The Common Room / GRO digital images £2.50
« on: Monday 02 January 23 12:43 GMT (UK)  »
On reading the December 2022 issue of Family Tree magazine came across the following in the answer to someone's query in the questions and answers section.

"To help reduce the cost of buying full certificates the GRO now offer Online View digital images of certain birth and death records for £2.50 amongst other services."

I have been unable to find anything about this on the GRO site.

Has anyone else found or know anything about it?

Delphia

I have a birth certificate for Sarah Maria Dobinson born 8/4/1871.  Registrar's District Bethnal Green, Middlesex.  Father is Charles Dobinson.  Mother is Caroline Dobinson formerly Sprickett.  Father's occupation Button Maker.  X The mark of Caroline Dobinson mother 52 Camden Street, Bethnal Green, informant.

Have been unable to find family on 1871, 1881, 1891 census.

Not found a baptism or death for Sarah Maria, and no marriage between a Charles Dobinson and a Caroline Sprickett.

The birth is on GRO with the MMN of Sprickett.

Can any one find them?

Thanks

Sussex Lookup Requests / 1841 census look up please
« on: Friday 06 March 20 16:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Is it possible for a look up of the 1841 census for Richmond Hill, Brighton?

Mary Welfare was buried in January 1849 aged 77.  Just wondering if she is living with her daughter Ann Leffen and family.

The only Mary Welfare I have found on the 1841 of the right age was in an Institution!

Thank you

The Common Room / Can anyone find John?
« on: Friday 15 November 19 18:40 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there,

Hoping someone can help with any information on an elusive ancestor John Dignum who died aged 38 in 1848 Whitechapel.   Not found a marriage for John but have details of 4 children, birth certificates for 3 of them.   Not found him on the 1841 census, so don't know where he was born.

Any help or suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

Sandra
