Family History Beginners Board / Looking for Robert Henry Powles/Vowles
« on: Tuesday 25 October 11 15:09 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for Robert Henry Powles, father William Powles, I have no idea where they came from. Robert henry Powles married Doris Lillian Allison in 1931 in Bristol, vol 6a page255. I am trying to find out what happened to the couple after their marriage. Is there anyone who can perhaps shed some light on my mystery. Doris was born in Newport, monmouthshire in 1909 vol 11a page 274. Thanks.

Heraldry Crests and Coats of Arms / coat of arms offer
« on: Saturday 28 May 11 14:25 BST (UK)  »
would you like a free coat of arms made ?
A heater shield shape about 14" wide cut from MDF with the arms raised in 3mm MDF you will have to paint them i may try but not my thing. I need to practice cutting out and the best way is to make some and who better than for you guys rather than just a few at random.

So the first six to ask only!!
you will have to supply a good print out that i can enlarge and work from and of course pay any postage
Having made a shield for each of my grandchildren with Welsh dragons dogs lions and even rugby balls depicted i hope to find a coat of arms for the KEYES name to use for the new 2

now (early)retired i make wooden things to sell to fund my hobbies and for charity and am always looking for a challenge and a niche but first i have to be sure that i can do it to a high standard. If i can i will make several sizes and then look for outlets   robert

As a woodworker i would like to make a wooden box/chest to pass on one for me and another for my wife to keep all our documents, certificates and printouts in, how deep do you suggest with layers of acid free paper inside and the internal dimensions what would be the largest certificate we will obtain.
As an asside i have some medeival wood which came up with the newport ship c1400 made a few pens from some of it which we sell at open days and in local library shop and will use some bits to put names and dates on top of boxes, and a few replica items for the ship bowls and cutlery.  Present projects are medieval shields for the grandchildred with rugby balls, dogs, dragons and lions as emblems when i get time will do my names coat of arms and proudly display it
