« on: Sunday 20 October 13 02:29 BST (UK)  »
I recently found an entry for William Fleuriot  & James Russell of Hull, Yorks  in the Dictionary of English Furniture Makers. They were declared bankrupt in the Gents Mag - April 1780.

I have the birth year for William (1755), his marriage and death details ( all taking place in London ) but wonder if anyone can help me with further information on his time in Hull  ?

Many thanks.

The Common Room / Robou & Poussett.
« on: Monday 01 April 13 02:58 BST (UK)  »
In a Will I have for Ann Poussett of Hackney - written in 1802 and proven in 1807 is the following : -

... and it is my will that in case any sum or sums of money shall at any time or times hereafter be decreed to be paid by me or my said husband Peter Poussett, his Executors or Adminstrators on my behalf in a cause of Robou & Poussett now defending in the High Court of Chancery, that the same shall be deducted out of the said principal sum of one thousand pounds Bank Stock.....

First, could anyone help me find out anything about Robou & Poussett - have looked everywhere without success.

Also, where might I look for information on High Court of Chancery cases ?

Peter Poussett - Gentleman -  died in 1810.

Any help appreciated.

The Common Room / Unusual Christian Name.
« on: Monday 18 February 13 04:32 GMT (UK)  »
I found a most unusual first name when searching through Wills and wondered if anyone had any

idea of its meaning  ?

The entry was for Protesay Boys, Spinster of St Martins in the Field. Proven 1756.

Some thing to do with being Protestant perhaps  ???

Thanks for any ideas.

London and Middlesex / Sealey Family - 66 Halidon St, Hackney
« on: Saturday 02 February 13 04:00 GMT (UK)  »
In the 1911 Census Thomas Sealey a Bootmaker is residing with his wife Ellen and daughter May at 66 Halidon Street - living in 4 rooms.  I have Googled and found that this address was the  Headquarters of the Homerton Corps of the Salvation Army.

Does this mean that the family were Salvationists and living on the premises I wonder ?

Thanks for any help.
