Berkshire Lookup Requests / James Miles 1861 census look up please
« on: Tuesday 02 October 07 18:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi All,

Would it be possible for one of you lovely people to look up James and Elizabeth Miles in Lockinge during the 1861 census. I have been given previously a reference. It's RG9/738 folio 91. Not sure if this is correct.
James was born in East Lockinge in 1825 and Elizabeth was born in Bourton in 1833.

TIA

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / 1861 & 1871 Look up please. Joseph PEATON
« on: Wednesday 26 September 07 15:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi All,

I've been trying to track down Joseph PEATON and his daughter Julia PEATON.

Julia states on later census' that she was born in Birmingham or Hockley in Warwick in 1853. I've not been able to find a birth for her either.

Julia married Samuel HARPLEY in March 1871, a month before the census. She married in Bradford and was with her husband in Tong, Bradford during the 1871 census.

Her Dad Joseph, on their marriage certificate, has an occupation as a "Mason"
He would have been born somewhere between 1824 - 1834.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / 1891 census look up. BALMFORTH in Clayton
« on: Saturday 10 September 05 14:47 BST (UK)  »
Hi All

Would it be possible for someone to do a look up for Ephraim BALMFORTH born c1849 in Bradford please.
In the 1871 census he was with wife Sarah and children Flora age 4, Elizabeth age 2 and Hannah age 11 months.
In the 1881 he is widowed, still with children.
In the 1901 he is widowed but with a different set of children the oldest John W age 18. So he probably remarried.
In all the above census's they are in Clayton

TIA

Hi All
Would some kind soul have a look for Ephraim Balmforth please.
He was born c1849 in Queensbury., so he would be approx 12 & 22 yrs.
He is a stone mason on the 1901 at Clayton.
All his children were born in Queensbury so that's where I think he will be.

Hi All

Would SKS do a look up on the 1861 census for
Mary Christian SWAINE she would be aged 20 born in N Bierley.
Her parents are Willie and Sarah SWAINE. Siblings, Hannah, Elizabeth, John, Sarah Jane and William Henry.

It is possible that she has already married Thomas BUSFIELD by the time of the 1861census although I have not been able to find a marriage record for them.

Their son Joseph Swaine BUSFIELD was born in 1876 in Bradford and at the time they were living at 100 Bolton Road Bradford

I would imagine by the 1871 census she is deffinately married to Thomas BUSFIELD he would be aged 30.

Thomas BUSFIELD died in 1881 and Mary Christiana BUSFIELD (SWAINE) died in 1888

I would be very grateful for any information on my Gt Grandparents

TIA
