Herts Completed Lookup Requests / Burial - CHAPMAN - Kelshall
« on: Thursday 20 November 08 22:19 GMT (UK)  »
Is there anyone out there who could check for a burial record in Kelshall parish records.  Looking for the death of Samuel Chapman who was born in Kelshall in approx 1819. We have him on the 1851 census but then we lose him completely. His son James Gibbons Chapman is living with grandparents on the 1861 census in Kelshall. Samuels wife Charlotte died in london in 1852 shortly after James was born and we believe he probably returned to Kelshall with his son and wonder if he died between then  and 1861 because we cannot find him on the 1861 census at all.

Looking for details of TIMMS family in Steyning on 1891 census if at all possible.

Father is William, his wife is Harriett and possible children Beatrice and Lillian.

Family rumour is that there was also a child called Regina also known as Queenie but i cannot find any birth entry for a Regina Timms.

Herts Completed Lookup Requests / Parish Records Kelshall - CHAPMAN Baptism
« on: Sunday 27 August 06 23:14 BST (UK)  »
Would it be possible for someone to check the entry in the Kelshall Parish Records for October 1852.  I  know that our James Gibbons Chapman was baptised there at that time and that his father was Samuel Chapman and his mother was Charlotte Gibbons Chapman.  What i would like to know is what the entry actually says.  Charlotte died in February 1852 and we would love to know if that fact is recorded on the baptism record.

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Mildred Haysmore
« on: Saturday 20 May 06 22:10 BST (UK)  »
Desperately trying to locate Mildred Haysmore on the 1881 census in Kent.  Her name well be spelt in a different way as on her birth certificate she is named as Hasmer.  She was born in September 1863 so she would only be approx 18 yrs old.

We know that her father was living in Crayford in 1881 but cannot find her on the 1881 anywhere.

This is an absolute longshot and i do not know if anyone will be able to help.  I am looking for a Samuel Chapman in Essex in 1861.  His birthplace was Kelshall, Herfordshire.  We have him on the 1841 census in Kelshall and on the 1851 census in London, Middlesex but after that we lose him. I have no idea what town he would be in so this is a real longshot.  Any help would be gratefully received.  He was born around 1815 we believe.

Kent / All Saints Church, Maidstone.
« on: Wednesday 11 January 06 19:54 GMT (UK)  »
This is a bit of a longshot but i thought i would give it a go.

My husbands uncle was in the Royal West Kent Regiment and died in Palestine in 1938.  We know that his name is commemorated on a lectern and that it is possible that the lectern is in All Saints Church, Maidstone.  Does anyone here visit All Saints at Maidstne and if possible could they please look and see if the lectern is in public view.  We would like to be able to get a photograph of the lectern in order to show it to members of the family.

The gentleman in question is S. T. Chapman and there will be other names on the lectern.

Thanking you.
