Cheshire / Landican Cemetery.
« on: Monday 04 August 08 11:50 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone know if Landican have an online plan of the cemetery with the areas numbered?
20 years ago the ladies who worked in the Lodge were very helpful, but after reading some of your letters I get the impression that times have changed!
Many thanks.

Scotland / Looking for Leonard Larson.
« on: Saturday 24 May 08 11:17 BST (UK)  »
I know this is a bit of a long shot, but does anyone out there know,or knew of a Leonard Larson who was born in Scotland? He would have been born in the 1920's and he fought in Italy in WW2.
An old pal of his from those Italian days is looking for him. His name is Maurice, and he is very anxious to contact him if at all possible.
It may be that poor Leonard is now dead, but I don't have any access to Scottish BMD's, only Findmypast.com, and FreeBMD.
I really hope that someone can help.
Regards.

Lancashire Completed Lookup Requests / Liverpool lookup for Kitchen family 1901
« on: Thursday 13 March 08 20:14 GMT (UK)  »
Please---has anyone got a decent census for Liverpool 1901? I subscribe to Ancestry but cannot find my grandfather in this year.
Samuel Kitchen b 1881 should be with his parents and siblings--James, William, Florence,Alice, Rose and Mary. Parents were James Richard Kitchen b1858 and Catherine/Mary b 1860, all in b Liverpool. I have got segs on my eyeballs, looking for them.
Many thanks.

Down / COMPLETED- The McNeilly family Co Down.
« on: Saturday 03 November 07 11:36 GMT (UK)  »
This is my first posting on an Irish Site and I am getting desparate now.
Was there a census in 1891 and if so how can I access it? I subscribe to Ancestry.com but that's no help.
I've recently found that my uncle's parents were born in Ireland. In 1901 they were living in Cheshire, and had their family of 3 children in England, but family lore says that the parents were born/came from Newcastle in Co Down.
The father's name was Thomas McNeilly b 1874, and he married Linna Ann also born in Ireland 1869. Where can I search for their marriage, it would have been in Ireland before 1897?
I am now at a dead end and would appreciate some help from a kind soul out there.
Thanking you in anticipation!

Montgomeryshire / The Hafod. Llandinam.
« on: Monday 03 September 07 19:52 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone know, please, of an old house called The Hafod in Llandinam. It was there in the 1930's, and quite an imposing house it was! It was a favourite place for my aunts to cycle to from Lani for picnics, so it must have been in quite large grounds. Is it still there, and exactly where is it? I would love to visit it.
Many thanks.

Cheshire Completed Lookup Requests / Chester City Centre.

Hello Listers.
Does anyone know if King St in Chester is still there, or has it been built on?
I bought a "tour guide" while I was in Chester yesterday, and when I read it back home I noticed that there's a King St marked behind the Town Hall. I was lead to believe that it had long gone, and was now built over.
My GGG and GG Grandfathers had a Clock Making business there in the 1800's. The name was Griffith. Does it ring a bell with anyone?
I would love to know if it's still there, it was 143 King St.

Montgomeryshire / Methodist records.
« on: Tuesday 26 September 06 13:05 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone know if there are any Methodist records hidden away somewhere? Another Woosnam and myself have hit a brick wall! We are looking for the Baptism of Francis Woosnam who was (according to censuses) born in Llandinam 1806-1811. He is not mentioned on the IGI or in Parish Registers. Only his marriage in 1833 to Hannah Jones has been recorded. We are trying to establish who his parents were but seem to be going round in circles.
As most of the family were Methodists we wondered if there were any records that were accessable.
Many thanks in advance.

Does anybody know where St Brides Church was in Liverpool and is it still standing?
Also Greenland St, is that still there or has it been built on by now?
Many thanks.
