Hi

Can anyone find a Mr Pankhurst or Pankhurst family in Ringstead or Laleham Road, Catford in the 1930s?  My mother remembers a shop on the corner of these roads which was run by a Mr Pankhurst when she was little.

Family papers indicate that Leon Oziemkiewicz born about 1890 Grajewo, Poland, was confirmed (not sure if Catholic or Orthodox) in Odessa, Ukraine in 1901 and that he also attended Odessa University.  His parents were Leon Wojciech Oziemkiewicz born in Klaszczele, Poland and Zofia Scholastyka Plaszkiewicz born in the Bialystok region.

We know that Leon the son was back in Poland by the 1920s.  Possibly they all left around 1917 when the Russian revolution started.

Is there any way of finding anything about the Oziemkiewicz family’s time in Odessa?

Hi folks

I've got this baptismal entry from the parish of Tarnowo in Poland.  Can someone translate it properly for me please?  I'm not sure which name applies to the father and which to the son!!

I think the gist of it is:

Raymundus (Raymond) Boinski is the priest.
Joannis Kabacinski is the child's father.
The child is named Laurentium (Laurence?).
The lawful wife is Anna.
Not sure about the numbers - dob / date of baptism?
Godparents are Andreas Wituki and Marianna Suritalanka, maiden of the estate of Tarnowo.

Please could SKS look up on Anc***ry's "Passenger & Immigration Lists Index 1500-1900s" to Canada for me?  Unfortunately I only have UK subscription and can only see names and destinations.

John Pembroke Jones, ship's carpenter,  born 1826 Deptford, Kent, married 1848 in Bristol to Sarah Hayward b1830.

John & Sarah are in the 1881 Ontario census in Amherstburg, Ontario, with five children all born in Ontario.  John shows as head of household in the 1871 census in Amherstburg.  I have his death entry in 1883 in Amherstburg.

Joseph Jones born 1834 Deptford, Kent, married 1854 in Bristol to Caroline Green b1833.

Joseph and Caroline's first child William born 1855 Bristol.  Second child Henry born 1856 in Fort Malden, Ontario.  They then show up in the 1861 census onwards in the UK.

Also Louisa Jones b 1802 Deptford Kent and Louisa Jones b1837 Aberystwyth, Wales (John & Joseph's mother and sister) may be travelling with them or around the same time.

I can see some possibles in the Lists Index to Ontario but can't see all the details.

I wonder if anyone can help on this one.  A lady in New Zealand has contacted me about the above couple.  She has information on the Lamberton family but does not know anything about Mary Green.  She thought her Mary might be the same as a Mary Green in my family tree; I think it is doubtful as my Mary was a Somerset lass, but you never know...!

Thomas Lamberton was born 17/5/1840 in Kilmarnock, the son of Thomas Lamberton c 1798 and his 2nd marriage to Janet Boyd c 1814.

Thomas Jnr married Mary Green at Kilmarnock on 25th August 1871.

The Mary Green in my tree was born c 1839 in Stratton on the Fosse, Somerset.  Her parents were John Green and Ann Jenkins.  The Greens go back at least two further generations in the same area. 

If anyone can shed any light on the Mary who married Thomas then two ladies on the opposite sides of the world would be very grateful.
