World War One / Arthur White West yorks
« on: Friday 19 November 21 18:25 GMT (UK)  »
Help please.
Pte. Arthur White. 22632 West Yorks regt.

I have found a FindMyPast record for the above, it was also linked to No.2232 same name
it shows the he was invalidated in 1919, however I cannot find a MIC for him. I wonder if anyone has any other route or site that would tell me if he was issued with his WW1 medals

Armed Forces / British soldiers in India, J Conway
« on: Saturday 17 July 21 20:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Just noticed your reply, Chinapaddy. My great great grandfather was also in the military in  India and got married in Oct 1880 in DumDum, India. I have a copy of the date from his service record, however have been trying unsuccessfully to track the brides father( who I think must also have been a soldier) is there any chance that you can see if there is any record for him in the archives please, I realise that you can't send a copy, but I am only an hour away from Kew if his record exists. The soldiers name was Joseph Conway and he married Mary Ann Dunn(e). His service record says SWB and there is an army number of 1172. There is also a reference to 1st Batt. Border Regt. for his NOK( now Mary Ann Conway).
Thanks for any help on this one

Armed Forces / Request a look up for Boer war soldier. Daniel Daly/Daley
« on: Thursday 03 June 21 19:23 BST (UK)  »
Daniel served with The Volunteers Coy, Border Regt. His number was 7185. He is down as DALY, however also spelt as DALEY.
I know he had at least 3 clasps to his QSA medal, Transvaal, Cape colony and Orange free state, was he awarded any others? also is there a service record available for him. He died young at age 26 around 1905, I have a copy of a newspaper cutting from Penrith of that era.
Not sure yet if this is a family member, trying to put the pieces together.
Thanks in advance for any assistance

Do records exist for the actions that would have awarded a MM to a soldier?
I am looking for James R Howard 66981, awarded in 1918.
Thank you
