Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / What are these numbers?
« on: Sunday 26 November 23 13:53 GMT (UK)  »
At Internet Archive, I've been looking through the book Waterloo County to 1972: an annotated bibliography of regional history by Elizabeth Bloomfield.
At the top left of page 616 (link: https://archive.org/details/waterloocountyto00bloo/page/616/mode/1up?view=theater) are the names of my Delion ancestors: Fred, Henry and William.  I am confused by the numbers after their names. Could someone please let me know what these numbers are referring to? This book itself contains a total of only 734 pages, so numbers like 2808 and 4525 obviously refer to something else.
Many thanks for any help.

Regards,

What, please, is the word before Hermann?
Many thanks.
(I'm guessing that it might be Ferdinand, but I'm not 100% sure.)

I'm having difficulty reading my great uncle's cause of death, especially the last part.
Does the last sentence say: "Caught between railroad car and accidentally carried away." ??
Any help much appreciated.

« on: Friday 25 February 22 23:14 GMT (UK)  »
The packet ship Normandie arrived in New York from Liverpool on 24 December 1841.  Her captain was Alfred Peter Spalding.  On the ship's manifest, below the date there is a word which appears to begin Glo??.  Can anyone suggest what this might be?
Many thanks,
