We are restoring a tiny bit of woodland called Bridge Farm next to the Grand Union Canal on the border of Greenford and Northolt.  I have checked some maps, the farm seems to be on the Northolt (North) side of the canal but called Bridge Cottage Farm.   A kind lady called Joan Gale said her g grandfather (called Fisher) owned it, and her mother was born there.  I have found the 1911 census (free) but I can't see anything else as I have not paid to view.

Is there anything any of you can add to the puzzle, without being able to view records, I cant really say much more about the farm.  It's the farm I am most interested in, if that makes sense, how old is it, were the Fishers the only family etc?

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Salzer Family - 1920's? 1930's? London
« on: Wednesday 14 February 18 21:13 GMT (UK)  »
I wonder when you think this photo was taken?  There are a few I have like this,  and the wedding couple change (as if they all want to have a go being bride and groom).  Therefore I don't really know who's wedding it really is!

All of the ladies in white are my paternal great aunts, and this was taken in Walworth, SE London.

If the photo could be cleaned, that would be amazing too.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Len Salzer (1922-2000) - London

Len was my first cousin (1x removed),and I have recently been in contact with his family (lovely people).  He made a replica of a very famous clock (replica shown in the photo).  In 2004, the replica was sold in New York for £500,000 (the family had donated the clock to a museum).

The following link is to the Southerbys catalogue: [url]http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/ecatalogue/2004/masterpieces-from-the-time-museum-n08039/lot.617.html[url]

I was lucky enough to have been given a photocopy of a photo of Len with the clock, which I have taken a photo.   Can one of you clever people improve it at all?  I do have a larger file if that helps, but it was too big to upload here.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Laurence Philip M Posnett b1937
« on: Wednesday 27 December 17 13:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone, I wonder in anyone can find a birth for Laurence Philip M Posnett, who according to his death cert was born in 1937 (he lived in London)

I have tried the usual searches, but I cannot find his birth (and therefore I can't find his parents).

Anything you can find would be great, thank you in advance.

My great uncle Martin Salzer and his wife Phyllis, on a beach with (I think) neices.  They were from East London, so I assume this is either in Essex or Kent.  Do you have any idea where?!

Hi, I hope it is ok to ask, but can any of you scan non-standard size negatives, from the 1920's?

Or suggest how to do it?  I only have an ordianry 35mm type scanner.
