The Common Room / outcome of a trial
« on: Wednesday 22 July 15 11:49 BST (UK)  »
Hello there,

I wonder if there is anyone out there who can help me find out the outcome of a trial?
The lady in question was my 2 x Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Beaumont, born Marr in 1819.   She was put on trial in Edinburgh on 7th July 1853 for culpable homicide.   The indictment papers I ordered from the National Archives, but nobody knows the outcome of the trial.
All I know is that 2 years later she was living in Glasgow with her family and had had another child.
I´ve looked at newspapers for the period, but find nothing.
A real brick wall.

Hope someone out there knows something.

Lanarkshire / death certificate
« on: Saturday 14 December 13 15:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hello there,

I wonder if anyone out there can help me find the death certificate of Eleanor Scott nee Beaumont b: 1842. Last found on the 1871 census.  In the 1881 census her husband James, a pawnbroker, living in Shettleston Glasgow, is noted as widowed.
I´ve tried all kinds of combinations  on Scotland´s People and LDS, but to no avail.

I´d be very grateful if anyone can help.

Thank you,   Eileen  :-*

 :)Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help me with my search to find out why  William Wright police officer in Penninghame the 1871 census, was a van man in Glasgow in 1881?  He married Elizabeth Neil from Knock and Maize in 1857, and was a farm labourer, somewhere along the line he became a police officer, I can find no mention of them in the 1861 census. I´d love to find out why he changed and why the move to Glasgow.

Thank you,

Eileen

East Lothian (Haddingtonshire) / Beaumont family tree
« on: Friday 02 August 13 15:35 BST (UK)  »
Hello there,

Has anyone any info about the Beaumont/Beamont family from Haddington.
John Beamont, gardener from England. Born about 1774.  Had a son George, born about 1818, moved to Glasgow with his family.
I´m trying to find more about their time in Haddington, and who John´s wife was.

Thank you,   Eileen Mcnaught
