Yorkshire (West Riding) / Mary Ann Haigh
« on: Thursday 22 March 12 10:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, im looking for information anyone might have on my great great grandmother Mary Ann Haigh born supposedly in barnsley in approx 1867,i think her parents names may be James Haigh and Elizabeth Wilby.

This is where it gets confusing, her son (my gret grandfather) James Tyrer Prescott was born in leigh, lancashire in 1902,his father was James Thomas Tyrer...Mary Ann appears on the 1901 and 1911 census' as being my great great  Grandfather James Thomas Tyrers housekeeper!! although she lived with my gg grandad and has children with him she appears to have been married to another man surname prescott and she never married James tyrer as far as i can tell.

On the 1901 census she has children that i dont think were my gg grandads as he was married to someone else at the time of their births their names are as follows:-

Maggie Hagne prescott (hagne appears to be a misspelling and is infact haigh) born westhoughton approx 1889.

Ann elizabeth  ???  born longton staffordshire approx 1892

maud prescott  born tyldesley, lancashire approx 1897

this is about all the information i have, i asked my grandad about his grandmother but all he could remember was she was a "short woman",not much help when researching ancestry im afraid :)

If anyone has any information or can give me any further information i would be very grateful
