Wales / St. Fagins family
« on: Thursday 26 April 12 19:33 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
if there is anyone out there living in or near St. Fagins, Wales, maybe you can help me.
My grandmother Bertha Amelia Haines, was born in St. Fagins in 1894, according to the 1901 census. Her father Thomas was born in Bath and was a mason by trade. St. Fagins at this time had a manor house owned by the Marquess of Bute. Thomas worked for the Marquess as a mason, on all properties owned by the marquess. Berthas siblings were Ernest b.1872 in Cardiff, Edith b.1874 in Cardiff. The rest of the siblings were born in St. Fagins:- Thomas 1887, Spencer 1889, Morfydd 1890, Gladys 1892, Everette 1896 and Phyllis 1898. All residing at Tyn y Calan, St. Fagins in 1901. Some members of the family moved to England including my grandma Bertha and her sister Gladys. There may have been other older siblings including Fanny 1865, Mary 1867, Alice 1877 and Idwal 1891. I would like to find out where they went, did they marry, their offspring an if possible are there any living descendants. Thankyou, Helen Clarke

Other family members are john william b. 1877, nathaniel b.1853, goerge b.1833 joseph b.1785 to name but a few. Many hailed originally from norfolk and left to go to yorkshire and derbyshire. If there are any batterhams at all, i'd be very happy to hear from you.
