Gloucestershire / Looking for Four Mile Bottom at Rodmarton
« on: Tuesday 16 November 21 04:15 GMT (UK)  »
Some of the parish entries I've found for my family at Rodmarton in the early 1700s state they were "of Four Mile Bottom".  Would anyone know where this is?
I've searched Google with no results and some of the Library of Scotland digital maps again without success.  I've noticed Jacament's Bottom on the maps and wondered if this would be the same place?
Thanks

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Will of 1583 help please
« on: Sunday 07 November 21 03:33 GMT (UK)  »
This is the top half of a will from 1583 for Richard Sayer of Culkerton, Rodmarton, Gloucestershire.  Would anyone be able to give me the gist of it please?  Just his family bequests will be absolutely terrific.  I can make out some words but most of it defeats me.
Many thanks

United States of America / How do I find this book in Ancestry?
« on: Sunday 26 September 21 06:16 BST (UK)  »
I have found a reference to a book that may have info on my family.  It is called "The good old times in McLean County, Illinois".  It can up as a suggested record for my ancestor James Reyburn when I did a public member tree search on ancestry.  I don't have a US subscription but can access it through my local library but I can't find the book listed in their catalogue (which is hopeless) and I don't know how to get access to it.
Can anyone suggest some avenues I could try?
Thanks

Could someone tell me what the letters stand for in the English electoral rolls eg R, Rw and NM.  I am looking at Park Hall Rd, in Finchley, London.  Please see attached.  Is Albert Law somehow attached to Annie Meaden?
Many thanks

Inverness / Trouble reading marriage place.
« on: Wednesday 20 January 21 22:35 GMT (UK)  »
I have attached a copy of the marriage of John Grant and Elspet Murray on 15.9.1796 in the parish of Abernethy and Kincardine.  Could anyone tell me where John Grant was from?  Am I right in thinking it was Backharn?  If so, where was this?
Many thanks for any assistance
