Wexford / Hayes Family Tree Wexford
« on: Friday 14 February 14 13:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,

Just doing some research for a friend and as his family and himself have very limited knowledge of their family tree I'm finding it difficult to get any information myself. It would be great if anyone could shed some light.

The following information is what I have received from him and this is all his family actually know :

Margaret Mary Hayes was b. 1938 in Wexford. Her Parents names were Gretta/Margaret Hayes nee Banville and Patrick Hayes. (No D/O/B are known) she had a sister called Patricia b. 1941. and as far as my research goes I can see she had two other sister Anne Hayes b. 1939 and Elizabeth Hayes b. 1937.  And they lived in Abbey Street in Wexford Town.

And that's as far as it goes. Without D.O.B's it's quiet difficult to check the census even,

Any help would be grateful and much appreciated.

Thank you.

Family History Beginners Board / Power Family
« on: Friday 14 February 14 13:24 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there, just doing some research for a friend and I am finding next to impossible to get any information.

There is very limited knowledge within his family of his family tree and there is no one currently alive that could help him. Here is the information I have (and all that he has)  :

His father was born in 1930 by the name of William James Power he was born in Co. Wexford to William Power and Mary Anne Carty. His father William Power was apparently born in Dun Laoghaire Co. Dublin(unknown year)  and his mother was from Wexford (again unknown year of d/o/b). And after that the only information is that Williams father was born in Co. Carlow. No other names or dates are known.

Any information of any kind would be very helpful. Thank you very much.

Europe / Need help in tracing Italian family
« on: Sunday 14 July 13 15:22 BST (UK)  »
Hi there,

I started my family tree last year and have since then I have found out amazing things.
I have left it for a few months as I had a dead end but now I am back and hoping anyone could help me.
On my maternal side I have as far back as great great great grandmother. I only have this as there is a source online showing she  signed a document for my great great grandfather to go join the war , he was listed "Canada , soldiers of first world war". I have no birth - death nor marriage for her only a name and a location. Her Name was Maria Mario Libbera Delpinto. That's what she came up as anyway. And she is located in the small enough town of Larino in Campobasso in Southern Italy. I also only know of one child (my great great grandfather) Pasquale Delpinto who was born in 1887 (I have alot of information on him).
I have no idea on how to search Italian records, I found her son only because he lived in England and Canada. Any information on Maria or further even would be greatly appreciated

Wexford / Michael Whitty and Family
« on: Friday 26 April 13 19:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi guys, Just a quick querie on some missing information. My great great grandfather was Michael Whitty. As per the 1911 Census he is residing in Brownstown Newbawn Co. Wexford with his wife Margaret (nee Furlong)  and 6 of his children, one of them being my great grandfather. But when I search the 1901 census there is no record of this family at all? Has anyone any idea as to why this is? When I searched  Mary Ellen(their eldest daughter), A result for a 4 year old Mary Ellen Whitty who is residing with her aunt and uncle (Furlongs) in Bridgetown Wexford, Presumably this is her mothers Family?Any information would be grateful. Thanks

Hi, I am looking for any information on the graves here at Ballymore Cemetery (near killinick). Maybe a register of graves or an index of who was buried where as many of the graves are now in ruins and unrecognisable. Any information at all would be great. Thank you

Family History Beginners Board / Pasquale Delpinto
« on: Wednesday 24 April 13 00:48 BST (UK)  »
Hi there, I am fairly new to this so I'm not sure if I am using it correctly. I am searching for information on my great great grandfather Pasquale Delpinto. Pasquale was born around 1876 and died in 1963. He was married to a Winifred Lawson(1897-1974). Together they had several children , one being my great grandfather Rolando Delpinto. I can find a marriage cert for Pasquale and Winifred but anything prior to that is hard to find. I know they got married in Lancashire and I know a bit of information on my great grandfathers siblings , but not on my great great grandfather Pasquale Delpinto or actually even on Winifred Lawson. If anyone has any information it would be great. Thank You

Wexford / James Carroll
« on: Wednesday 24 April 13 00:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi there, I am new to this so I am not exactly sure how it works. I am looking for information on my great great grandfather - James Carroll - From information gathered by the census and also by family members, he lived in Talbot st. in Wexford Town Co. Wexford. His estimated year of birth is 1871 as he was 30 years old for the 1901 census. He married a Johanna Gainfort who hailed from Broadway/Ladys Island. They had several children, my great grandfather being one of them. The family have no knowledge of James Carrolls life previous to 1901. From family stories we are pretty sure he also had a twin sister. And also that they were not from Wexford town , maybe further north in wexford or even wicklow. He had relatives in Carnew named Dorcy/Darcy , who presumably owned a tailor shop in Carnew. Any kind of information would be of great interest to me. Thank you
