« on: Thursday 08 August 19 20:54 BST (UK)  »
Hello, doing research on my Wife's maternal family, her maternal Grandmother has the maiden name of Duncum. When I started  a few years back, had very little information on that name, now gathered some more family members so am interested to know if there are other Duncum descendants here. All family were in and around London - Shoreditch/Mile End old town/Bethnal Green/Stoke Newington and Islington - where my wife's Mother was born to A. Duncum who married a W Smith. Hope to hear from someone. Thanks

Fife / Crambie/Crombie
« on: Wednesday 03 July 19 22:03 BST (UK)  »
Looking for similar researching above names. My researches have Crambie and Crombie  running through the family, as I have a 6th Gt Grandparent Alexander Crambie born @1735 in fife, married to Margaret ??Legate., and one of their children, Alexander is 5th Gt Grandparent - His Daughter Elizabeth married a David Irons.  Elizabeth's Brother David Crambie/Crombie married Emilia Finlay and their Daughter Jean, named as Crombie,  married an Alexander Harley - I am interested also in this family connection, as am in contact with a descendant of this marriage, and also by accident I came across a guest book entry in a disused Fife family history site, and a person RG was interested in making contact or finding out more about her Harley connection, however I do not have any contact details so am wondering if this person is a subscriber on here to enable contact.
I have one unsolved puzzle in my Crambie/Crombie family, Alexander, my 5th Grandparent have found one son David Crombie born 1791, no death or other details found and another son also named David born 1805,  but surname Crambie who married Emilia Finlay. other searchers have also found this puzzle, but unable to establish why 2 sons of same name, I presume earlier David died at young age but no trace.

looking for descendants of Foster Burden Charlton and Janet Miller Hutchison, married 1896 in Newcastle, had children Margaret McGregor Charlton, Alexander Hutchison Charlton, George Charlton and Betsy Hendry Charlton (married J W Lambton in 1935). My father in law was named Forster Burden Charlton Harper, we think after a son, who died at an early age,  of his Aunt Janet Miller Charlton, nee Hutchison.

Cumberland Lookup Requests / John Bell of Alston, born 1826/1827
« on: Tuesday 15 October 13 15:47 BST (UK)  »
researching on behalf of Brother in Law, Ian Bell, who's Great Grandfather is Robert Bell, Born 1856 in Alston and married an Elizabeth Martin. We are trying to establish Robert's father, John Bell as the IGI record gives one as born June 1826  and the Ancestry shows as 1827, and we know he married an Ann, but question as to surname of Waller or Millican, and we also think John's father is also called Robert. Can anyone help who is doing same family or point in right direction. Have looked at a few family trees in Ancestry and thee is some confusion even there to Ann's maiden name. Thanks for assistance
Ian Bell

Hello, am researching my Houston family, and have my GG,Grandfather (William Houston)'s birth record of February 1872 in Stirling, giving his mother Catherine Mcgill(details I have found of her) and his father who is also a William Houston, both were present at his registration. However I cannot find any trace of the Father, who would be my GGG Grandfather. There is no age of parents on certificate, and he does not show up on the 1871 census. Any hints, please

Northumberland / Descendants of Harper/Hutchison/Charlton in Newcastle
« on: Wednesday 16 January 13 15:25 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, am doing research for my wife on her Newcastle Paternal family. We have found some ancestors of the Harper line, all of whom came from St. Anne's and All Saints areas, names William, Joseph, Charles,Mary, Margaret on her Paternal Grandfather's and Hutchison was from her Paternal Grandmother's side, originally from Fife, Scotland and lived in Byker, with the  names of Alexander, Betsy, Sarah, Margaret. Sarah married a Foster Burdon Charlton hence that name came into the family. Margaret, her Paternal Grandmother was first married to a Carr and brought 2 Daughters into the family, Thomasina(Teeny) and Lillian(lily). Her Grandfather, Henry C. Harper owned some horse wagons and fruit and vegetable shops in the Byker area up to and during the 2nd world war.
So if anyone is a descendant and doing research on these family names, we'd be delighted to hear from tham. Many thanks

Fife / Hutcheson/Hutchison of Fife
« on: Saturday 12 January 13 22:05 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, started research on my Wife's paternal family and found her Paternal Grandmother was called Margaret Hutcheson. born in Logie, Fife about 1878/1879 and her Parents were Alexander Hutcheson born 1847/48 in Balmerino, and Betsy Hutcheson born 1848/49 in Airlie, Forfarshire. Is anyone looking into Hutcheson/Hutchison families from Fife who would have any further info to share. Reason for showing anmes is records taken from Familysearch (the Mormon Church site), and their transcriptions are not always accurate in spelling. Thanks for any assistance
