I have the record for german born Georg Brooker in the Red Cross WW1 internee records as follows

Georg Brooker age 31
Art-Rgt 65 Res
Edinburgh 137 Morrison Street
Döttingen, Württemberg (B)

George was a butcher/sausagemaker in the 1911 census married to an english lady.  He was interned and his last address was in Morrison Street.  I do not know what the second line of the record entry relates to i.e. Art-Rgt 65 Res.  Could anyone help?

Does anyone know if records for the Home Guard in Peckham exist or are available in a local archive office?
Thank you for any help.

Does anyone know if the marriages records for St James the Less in Westminster are available anywhere for the 1780's.  I have been told that John Hill married Mary there but want to confirm her surname.  Any help would be appreciated.

Antrim / William Armour and Isabella/Elizabeth McFall of Antrim
« on: Sunday 17 November 19 16:26 GMT (UK)  »
William Armour, farmer and Isabella/Elizabeth McFall of Antrim had at least three sons, Joseph c1812, Hugh c1815 and James c1821.  Joseph married Sarah McKendrick b c1820 in Antrim and they had four children Joseph 1838, Matthew 1841, Charlotte 1843 and William 1845 all born in Antrim.   By 1851 Joseph, his family and his two unmarried brothers had moved to Greenock in Scotland.

I have been trying to find out where in Antrim any of the family may have lived but have drawn a blank.  With just Antrim as a birthplace is it likely that I will be able to pin them down or should I accept this will be a brickwall.

Lanarkshire / James Reid of Rutherglen
« on: Sunday 17 November 19 15:42 GMT (UK)  »
I am researching the family of James Reid and his wife Mary Thornton.  They had three children baptised at Rutherglen - Archibald 15 May 1814, Jean 27 August 1815 and John 23 January 1820.  I cannot find a marriage for James and Mary in Rutherglen or anywhere else in Scotland.

Is anyone researching this family?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Essex / Convicted in 1896 West Ham
« on: Sunday 01 September 19 10:00 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find out which prison an ancestor may have been sent to who lived in the West Ham area.  He was convicted at Stratford Court in April 1896 of deserting his wife and sentenced to one month's hard labour.  I contacted the Essex Record Office thinking he may have been sent to Chelmsford prison but they advised me that East Ham and West Ham were not linked to Essex re prisons in 1896.  Does anyone know where someone convicted at Stratford may have been sent to in London?  Any help would be great.

World War Two / WW2 Dual Nationality
« on: Saturday 24 August 19 14:03 BST (UK)  »
In WW2 my father submitted an objection to the War Office against serving outside the UK.  His father was British his mother German.  On his service record form B103 it states his objection was upheld under reference WO 100/Gen/9173 (PGID) dated 18 Oct 1941.  Upheld by DAAG Aldershot District.  (Authority CRAD No 4/3395/A dated 24 Mar 1942.  On Form B200 at the top it says 'Unwilling to serve in any theatre of war.  Objection upheld.'  This has been crossed through and underneath 'Erased, C of Instrn No 53/366 issued by ABL Records'.

I have looked on the Discovery website on the National Archives but none of the above references bring anything up.  Does anyone know if these records or correspondence are available to view anywhere?

My father did serve overseas in North Africa, Italy and France but I am wondering why the original ruling was overturned.  Any help or advice would be great.
