England / Clara Gavan (nee Foxall) b. 06.08.1912 Lye
« on: Wednesday 12 July 06 09:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi All
Looking for any information specifically on Clara Foxall born 06.08.1912 @ 39 Church Street, Lye. I say specifically because although I have received a lot of information on the rest of her family (she was 1 of 13!), Clara seems to have been a "black sheep" of the family.

She married Edward Gavan 12.12.1938 @ Birmingham Registry Office.  They had children: 1939 -  1953

Clara may also have had other children before 1939. Family recollections remeber two children,  who were looked after by Clara's father Samuel Foxall. Her mother was Florrie Flora Morgan.

There seems to be no trace of Clara after 1953 in Birmingham.

Does anyone know of her?

Thanks Emma

Worcestershire / Worcestershire Newspapers
« on: Thursday 01 September 05 14:27 BST (UK)  »
Hi All,
I am beginning to think there was something not quite right about a birth and death in 1953 in my tree and I just wanted to ask the advise of those "far more qualified" than I in family history research. The name concerned is Peter Gavan born 6th May 1953 in Selly Oak Birmingham. His death was registered in the same quarter but in Worcester showing his age as zero. Family tales so far seem to imply that the mother Clara Gavan nee Foxall was mentally unwell and had been known to harm previous children who were all taken into care. I have tried to get a death cert (already have a birth cert) but part of my fee was returned. I know I gave the correct GRO information so I assume it was because I was not a close enough relative.

My question - Is there anywhere I can look up Worcester newspapers from around that time? How do I get a copy of the death certificate? How do I check with a cornoers court if there was any inquest?

I appreciate this is a bit sensitive but this is one skeleton I'd like to get out of my closet!

Hoping someone can help or advise

Emma
