Wexford / Delacy Warpipe Band, Tomsallagh
« on: Monday 17 August 15 16:28 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone know where I can find any information or newspaper articles about this band from Tomsallagh around 1912?

I have found this website which has a lovely picture of the band and mentions newspaper articles but not which newspaper.

I hope someone with local knowledge might be able to help.  :D

Does anyone know where I can find a photo of this pub?

I think it has been demolished.

I've tried searching the internet for a photo without any luck.

Norfolk / MINNS muddle
« on: Monday 29 April 13 17:52 BST (UK)  »
I am researching James MINNS the son of Martin MINNS and Amy FUTTER, baptised at Thwaite St Mary  7 Oct 1798.

Looking for children of Martin MINNS and Amy I have found
Martin MINNS  & Amy NOLER
Sarah 28 May 1791
John  16 Jan 1793
John 12 Oct 1794
Ann 13 Dec 1795

Martin MINNS & Amy FUTTER
James 7 Oct 1798
Martin 27 Sep 1801
George 20 Mar 1809
All baptised at Thwaite St Mary

FreeREG has Martin MINNS of Ditchingham marrying Amy FUTTER otp at St Mary & St Andrew , Horsham St Faith 17 Oct 1787 (witness George CHRISTMAS)

Familysearch has Martin MINNS marrying Amy FOSTER 14 Oct 1787 at Aldoburgh, Norfolk, England

I‘m not sure where Aldoburgh is.  Could this be the same couple marrying???

I can’t see a marriage for Martin MINNS to Amy NOLER nor can I see a baptism for her. The only burial I have found for Amy MINNS was in 1835 in Ditchingham and I am fairly sure see was Amy FUTTER. Could Amy NOLER and Amy FUTTER be the same person?

The other possibility is that there were 2 Martin MINNS with a wife called Amy.  There were certainly 2 Martin MINNS born at the same time in Hedenham –
Martin MINNS son of John & Hannah at St Peter, Hedenham  22 Mar 1761
Thomas & Martin base sons of Martin MINNS by Abigail CARTER  St Peter, Hedenham 14 May 1758.
Martin MINNS of Hedenham  married Abigail CARTER at All Saints Earsham 10 Aug 1758 (witnesses Thomas MINNS & John MINNS). This marriage would have legitimised the children so Martin would have the surname MINNS.
There is a burial for a Martin MINNS aged 18 at Bedingham 19 Sep 1778 which could be either or neither of the above.

Can anyone help me sort this family out?
