Essex Lookup Requests / Fuller Surname Help Please
« on: Friday 28 September 12 15:35 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I am new to researching English records.  I am researching William Fuller born February 1876, he says in West Ham, Dorset on the Canada 1911 census.  Of course there is no such place, but West Ham in Essex is where he married Rosa Maud Cuffley December 11, 1901.  The couple had two children born in West Ham before emigrating in 1909. William states on the passage record that he is going to a job on the railway, his former job in England is mentioned but I am unable to decipher.

In searching the West Ham census for 1901, I found Rosa Maud in CanningTown, Plaistow, Dist 47.  I did find two Williams, one living with mother Mary Ann in District 18 but birthplace is Stepney, mothers birthplace is Dorset which could be a clue.  His occupation is Omnibus Conductor and there is no further link to 1911. The link to 1891 shows his name as William Henry b1876 Stepney, living in Edmonton, Middlesex with parents James and Mary Ann.
When I searched the BDM for this William Henry I find he is indeed born first quarter of 1876 but registered in Surrey, so I am thoroughly confused.
Would someone be able to look up the marriage in 1901 and confirm that James is the father of my William.  Many thanks
Karen

Canada / Mary (May) Shearer Mcleod
« on: Tuesday 27 July 10 16:48 BST (UK)  »
We are searching for information post 1919 of Mary (May) Christie Shearer born 1894 in Ayrshire Scotland.  She emigrated to Canada circa 1915 and married Donald McLeod in 1919 in Vancouver BC.  We have pictures of her with her daughter around 1923/24 and a note that she passed away in 1951 in Winnipeg.  Donald McLeod was born in Stornoway Scotland and joined the Canadian Forces in 1914 in Winnipeg.  There are notations in family papers that they lived in Winnipeg but searching available records has turned nothing further.  Is anyone able to point us in the right direction.  Mary's granddaughter lives in England and she would really appreciate the assistance as to what became of her grandmother in Canada.
Thanks, Karen

Lanarkshire / Is there a cemetary in Kelvindale
« on: Friday 23 October 09 15:03 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I found (finally) the death cert for my uncle who died in 1921 at Ruchill hospital, he lived at Kelvindale cottage, Kelvindale.  Would anyone be able to tell me if there was then and also now a cemetary located in that area.  I doubt whether there is a stone but I would like some further info as I think that my grandmother may have been buried there too, everyone else is deceased so I have no one left to ask
Thanks, Karen

New Zealand Completed Requests / Maori Meeting House-Rotorua
« on: Tuesday 06 January 09 17:48 GMT (UK)  »
Hello
I am hopefully appealing to someone who has knowledge of the above meeting house in South Auckland.  I have a picture dated somewhere around 1914 - 1917 of people who we think are our relatives taken in front of the meeting house.  I can match the totems in the front, however the building at that time looks to be unpainted and the family is sitting on the wall between the totems. I have seen a current picture of the meeting house.  Does anyone know when the structure was refurbished and painted and is it designated as a historical structure.  Also does anyone know the age of the meeting house.
We are trying to identify the family members, the photo was found amongst a relatives belongings in Lochwinnoch, Scotland, of course no date or names.
I appreciate any help in solving the mystery.

Hello
I have a relative who died in 1933, I know the names of her children as they were all born in Scotland and the family emigrated to NZ in the early part of 1900s.  Would someone have the spare time to look at this probate for me and post the details.  I'm in Canada
Marion Bennett (nee Montgomery)-Auckland-Widow 1933
agency - BBAE
series - 1570
box - Box213
record - 294/1933
her husband's name was James Bennett, I would like to know who her children married and thought perhaps that info would be in the will/probate.
I would appreciate any help or suggestions I can get.
Kind Regards, Karen

Ayrshire / Henderson/Orr/Moffat families
« on: Sunday 18 November 07 16:40 GMT (UK)  »
Searching for information on the Robert Henderson married to Janet Orr family, their son James married Janet Moffat in Beith and their son James b1880 married Elizabeth Lauchlan Kerr. James married to Janet Moffat died 1906 a month prior to James & Elizabeths marriage in Dalry.  James & Janet lived in Kilbirnie.  I haven't been able to locate any information about James & Elizabeth after their marriage, they may have emigrated but I haven't found any trace of them. If anyone is related to any of james & Janet other children and researching, any help would be appreciated.  Thanks, Karen

Australia / Robert Kerr Henderson
« on: Saturday 05 May 07 21:25 BST (UK)  »
I hope that someone can help me. I found the above name on Rootsweb as a obituary in the Sidney Morning Herald of August 2, 2002.  He was age 88 late of Monterey(don't know where that is).  My James and Elizabeth Henderson may have emigrated to Australia after 1906 and this man may be their son as her father's name was Robert Kerr.  Would anyone be able to look up this obit and tell me what it says.  Thanks from Canada
Regards, Karen
