United States of America / Heinrich and Margaret Watson
« on: Saturday 28 May 22 11:59 BST (UK)  »

I have just discovered that a distant relative of mine Margaret Watson married a Heinrich Eggers a ships captain in Falkirk Stirlingshire Scotland in 1854 . They had two sons John born 1855 and Henry in 1863 both died very young.
Information I received was Margaret and Heinrich went to Canada and eventually settled in America .

Looking for help in finding some more information on them.

Thanks

Technical Help / "Resolving Host "
« on: Wednesday 19 August 15 16:37 BST (UK)  »

Hi,
Looking for some advice on the following.

I have downloaded and have been running Windows 10 for a few weeks now without any trouble using Google Chrome .

These last few days I have been seeing " resolving host" on the bottom of my screen and have done a recovery and unticked boxes as suggested but still it is appearing how can I rectify this.

Very grateful for any help as I'm not technically minded

Hi,
I am hoping someone can help me get more information on John King Campell's army career.
He was born on 26Th October 1886 in Gilmerton Liberton Edinburgh . As far as I can ascertain he never married was a miner and lived with his mother sister and two brothers (one of whom was my step grandfather) --his father had been killed in a mining accident.
We have very little knowledge of him except his birth and he died in France in 1915.
Thank you

« on: Wednesday 03 June 15 20:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am really getting to grips with my new  windows 8 laptop and hopefully this is my last query.

I have photo gallery on it but when I try to edit my photos it tells me that windows has found a problem  they are trying to find a solution to it and will let me know  but nothing happens
it just closes.

Anyone tell me what causes this and how I can rectify it ?

Many thanks once again

Technical Help / Facebook --How do I prevent people sharing my photos
« on: Sunday 12 April 15 22:36 BST (UK)  »

I have a friend who takes delight in sharing my photos. I have my setting as only friends can see them

and don't want every Tom ,Dick and Harry to see them as her setting is at public.

I don't want to upset her is there a setting I can use that prevents her from doing this.

Been trying to find something on their "help pages" but can't see anything.

Much obliged.

« on: Wednesday 18 February 15 09:31 GMT (UK)  »
My HP laptop is almost 6 months old I didn't pay for an extended warranty as I have always bought

this make and never had any problems with either laptops or p.c. until now.

I went into You Tube yesterday the video appeared and then it turned green . I tried others and videos friends have sent of their grandchildren etc. the same occurred.

Any one any idea how I can rectify this . I am not a whiz kid on computers I use it for email , browsing and ordering on line.

Any advice gratefully received .

Thanks

A friends young grandson has been doing a school project on WW1 but has been stumped as to

what the silver object is at the bottom of the picture. Can anyone help ?

He has searched the internet library etc. and the best he has come up is a container for bullets.
