Tipperary / Tipperary place name - Headfield?
« on: Saturday 29 July 23 03:16 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

A possible relation of mine is listed on the 1911 UK census as an inmate age 74 at Camberwell, Work House, Gordon Road Peckham, Camberwell, London. His name was Michael Reardon and he listed his birthplace as Tipperary, Headfield. Anyone any idea where Headfield is?

US Lookup Requests / US Federal Census 1880
« on: Wednesday 19 July 23 11:59 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I'm trying to find a John William Hayes born at Ogdensburg, St Lawrence, New York on
Jan 7, 1873 in the 1880 US Census. He died at Munising, Alger, Michigan on
Mar 29, 1922. I did find one I thought was a fit but his father is listed as Denis Hayes born in Ireland, I have been informed by his relations that John Hayes father was also John Hayes born in Ireland. Another piece of information I have is he married Myrtle Lydia Cook circa 1907 and they married possibly somewhere in Michigan, maybe the marriage cert lists John's father's name for certain?

Canada Lookup Request / Looking for Marriage Cert - Likely Ontario or Quebec
« on: Monday 17 July 23 23:09 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

I'm looking to find the marriage cert for an Edward / Edgar Caron (1908-1976) to his wife Marguerite (maiden name unknown) (1908 - 1988). I know their years of birth and death from their headstone but know nothing else. I'm trying to track their parents and further back. Any pointers in the right direction would be great - i'm used to genealogy in Ireland, Britain and USA but have no clue where to go for Canadian records. They are both buried at Lake Of The Woods Cemetery
Kenora, Kenora District, Ontario.

Hello,

Would anyone know where the medical files for a patient of Sarsfield Court would be held? A deceased relative of mine was treated there in 1964/1965 and i'm trying to find out what the condition was. I know he received the last rights while there but he survived and was released about a month later.

Cork / Hannah Woods - After 1901?
« on: Thursday 08 December 22 23:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

Hoping someone can help me, I'm trying to find what happened my Great Aunt Hannah Woods after the 1901 census, she was age 19 working as servant in Glanworth. I've checked death certs and marriage certs on Ireland Genealogy and I can't find anyone that fits and I can't find her under her maiden name on the 1911 census. Maybe she emigrated but I can't find anyone that fits under Ellis Island records. Any help would be great. She was born on March 03, 1878 in Castletownroche, baptised on March 10th. Her parents were Richard Woods & Mary Daly, Castletownroche.

US Lookup Requests / Looking for Bridget Doyle listed on New York Census 1920/1930/1940
« on: Wednesday 29 December 21 19:05 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

I know the address my relation Bridget Doyle was living at in 1927, I know nothing else about her, the address was 1277, 3rd Avenue, New York. I can't seem to search by specific address on the online census, only by name, and there are over 100 Bridget Doyle's listed. Any advice how to narrow the search down?

Armed Forces / Battle of Germantown, American Revolutionary War
« on: Saturday 15 May 21 06:32 BST (UK)  »
I just discovered I have a relation (possible he was direct ancestor) who died on October 13, 1777 at Germantown, Pennsylvania age 37. His name was John Smith and I know he was born in Berwick upon tweed, England. That's all I know, the Battle of Germantown was on October 04, 1777  -so I assume he must have been a solider and he died from his injuries 9 days after (I assume). I don't know if he was on the British or the American side, I would have presumed the British side but I now know that he fathered a son 'Chester Bullard Smith' born in 1773, Pulaski County,Virginia, so it seems he was in America 2 years before the war started. Any advice for where to find casualty records for both sides for this time? The British lost 71 at the Battle but I don't know if that includes the ones that died from their injuries days later.

England / Divorce Records 1960's
« on: Wednesday 05 May 21 00:39 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

Is it possible to access English divorce records from the 1960's? I know the couple married in Dublin in 1957, they said on the marriage cert address was intended to be Manchester and I have the record of the bride remarrying in Weymouth in 1973, i'm looking to trace the Groom who is a relation of mine. Would like to find what his address and his occupation was when he divorced, is it possible to find this somewhere? Other than what I have just stated I have no idea where in UK they divorced or the specific year, but obviously sometime between 1957 & 1973.
