Are you able to tell me if these two men are brothers or father and son - they definitely look alike. William Fuller, my 3rd gr grandfather, was born in Richmond, Surrey in 1785 and died in 1872. I think the other gentleman is Thomas Fuller but am not sure if he is father or brother. Do you think the photos were taken at the same time?
Many thanks.
Jill

PS I am unable to attach photos despite being under the limited size. I have tried attaching them one at a time but keep getting an error message. Is there a reason for this?

Suffolk / Whiffing, Whiffen, Wiffing Family Haverhill, Suffolk.

Hi
Many family trees have attached a Gyles Alington to the above family as follows:

I have Thomas Whiffing b Haverhill, 1723 son of Susan Carter b Haverhill 1695;  Susan is the daughter of Elizabeth King b 1640 Lathenham; Elizabeth's mother was Mary Alington b 1615 and her father is Gyles (or Giles) Alington.

I have tried through Ancestry, Findmypast and Familysearch.org to tie all this together but without success. Can anyone shed any light please.

Thanks
Jill

The Common Room / Bogus email from Find My Past
« on: Wednesday 07 September 16 03:57 BST (UK)  »
I had two emails last week supposedly from Find My Past regarding a $1 subscription for a month.
When I rang FindMyPast they said they weren't running such a promotion.

Has anyone else had these emails?

Family History Beginners Board / Elizabeth Whiffing nee Rossiter
« on: Monday 27 June 16 06:03 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I'm trying to establish a family line for Elizabeth Whiffing nee Rossiter. Elizabeth married Cratchrode Whiffing on 14 Nov 1779 at St Dunstans, Stepney. I have a birth date for her of 1756 at St George, Middlesex, and a death date of 1789 at Poplars but I'm not sure either is 100% correct. Elizabeth's husband's name is often spelled Crotchrode Wiffen which makes it rather difficult. It's Elizabeth's family I am trying to find - I have a Thomas Rossiter as her father and Elizabeth for her mother but I'm not sure that is right either. Can anyone please help??
cheers

London and Middlesex / Mary Anne Siggs nee Whiffing b 1783
« on: Friday 27 May 16 08:38 BST (UK)  »
Hello

I'm trying to find the date of death for my 4 x gr grandmother, Mary Anne Siggs (nee Whiffing). Mary Anne was born about 1783, (maybe Middlesex?) daughter of Cratchrode Whiffing and Elizabeth Rossiter. She married James Whiffing Siggs on 28 March 1803 at St Dunstans Church, London. I've tried Ancestry, Find My Past, free BMD, familysearch.org. Can anyone help?

Surrey / William and Mary Fuller, Richmond, Surrey

Can anyone help me discover the maiden name of my 3 gr grandmother, Mary, who was married to William Fuller. Going by the 1841 census she was born abt 1791 and was not born in that county. The 1851 Census said she was born in Staffordshire. Also in the 1851 Census is a Thomas Richardson so I have tried to connect those two, but with no luck. 1861 Census says she was born at Abbots Bromley, Staffordshire.

She died in 1861. Her husband, William Fuller was born 1785 and died 1872 and both are buried in St John the Baptist Church, Old Malden, Kingston, Surrey, along with his parents.

Many family trees in Ancestry suggest her maiden name was Browning (who was also married to a William Fuller) however I have been assured by members of this family that this particular William Fuller and Mary Browning had no children. The family has documents proving this.

Perhaps Mary's maiden name was 'Browning'. If I order FNL Film Number 547369, would that give me her parents name, or more particularly, would it tell me if it is the correct William Fuller? Mary Browning and William Fuller were married in 1806 at St Dunstans of the West, London.

My William and Mary had 9 children. Their first child, also William, was born in 1808.

United States of America / George S Sawyer b 1845 Phillipston, Mass, d London 1926
« on: Saturday 14 November 15 05:21 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

I'm trying to locate the family of George S Sawyer, son of George Washington Sawyer and Sally White. George Jnr was born in 1845 in Phillipston, Mass and died in 1926 in London. George Jnr married Maria Amelia ?? and they moved to England around 1890s. I believe there were no children of the marriage.

It is really Maria's family that I am trying to locate, hopefully through George's extended family. I believe she was born in Berlin, Germany in 1855. I don't know when or where the couple were married and I don't know Maria's surname. Maria died in London in 1936.

A friend has an item she would love to return to Maria's family but my searching is proving difficult.

Can anyone help?

cheers from Jilly in Australia

I am trying to find anyone researching the above couple. George was born in Massachuets, USA in 1845 and moved to England in 1880 where he died in 1926. His wife, Maria Amelia, was born in Berlin, Germany about 1855. It is more Maria's side of the family I am searching for but I can't find anything on her. I don't think they had any children. Can anyone please help?

cheers

Hi

Just wondering whether anyone can access Vol 10A, Page 336, Line 320 in England and Wales, Death Registration Index 1837-2007 for further information regarding Hannah Ludlam. I have just discovered what I think is her date of death and am hoping it might say her husband was William Ludlam.
 :) :)
Cheers
