Hello,

I have hit a brick wall! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Fred Taylor born 21st March 1892 living with wife Hilda and son Geoffrey on 1939 census.

On Fred and Hilda’s marriage certificate from 1922, they are living in Worthing. His Father is given as Frederic William Taylor (deceased) and his Fathers profession was a bank accountant.

I cannot find Fred on the 1911 or 1901 census with a Father of this name? I can find Alfreds but unsure how to verify that this is correct. There is a birth in Steyning in 1892 of a Fred Taylor with mother’s name of Potter but I cannot find any marriage record.

I am trying to trace my family tree but have got in a big of a muddle.

I am looking for the parents of Griffith Evans and Ellen. Their children are Oliver b 1905, Richard b 1909 and Maud b1911.

I have them on the 1911 census living at 26 Eisteddfod Street, Cardiff.

Griffith (transcribed as Authth!) Evans aged 31, Manager in Boot shop, born Llandumstwy, Carnarvon
Ellen (transcribed as Ellere) Evans aged 29, born Blaenau Festiniog, Merionethshire
Oliver aged 6 also born Blaenau
Richard aged 2 also born Blaenau

The census says they had been married 7 years making their wedding in 1904. The only Griffith and Ellen marriages I could find close to this date are 1905, one to Ellen Jones in  Carnarvon and the other to Ellen Davies in 1905 in Ffestiniog.

I hadn’t realised quite how prevalent the Evans, Jones and Davies families were!

I am trying to trace living descendants of Emily Jane Pettitt 1861-1930 in order to return a photo album to the family if they want it. I appreciate that we cannot discuss the living descendants here so I wonder if you could help me to get through a brick wall in order for me to hopefully find them, if there are any.

From my research: Emily Pettitt married Joseph Edward Henry Wells. I can find two children:

Mary Emily Wells born about 1890 but cannot find any information beyond the 1911 census.

Edward Pettitt Wells born about 1891. According to other family trees on Ancestry he married a 'Dorothy Ruth ........'. There is a marriage record on FindMyPast for a marriage in Alexandra, Egypt and lots of travel records showing the two of the travelling back and forth. There is also a marriage record on family search showing him marrying a Vera Mary Wever in 1953 in South Africa.  On this record he is stated as a widower but the only death I can find for a Dorothy Ruth Wells is after his.I have also found a death record for EPW in 1960 in SA.

Basically I am trying to find whether Mary Emily Wells married or had children or Dorothy Ruth's maiden name in order to find if they had children.

Can anyone help?

I am trying to trace back  the family history of Charles Henry Albert Barter Webb born circa 1840 in Bristol.

I have him as marrying Sarah (unknown surname) in 1878. They appear to have had 8 children(according to 1911 census) Charlotte Maria, Eva Elizabeth and Vincent are 3 of them.

I have him on the 1901 and 1911 census living with the above family members.

I have been told by his descendants that the family is linked to the Barter family. My source tells me that there was an Aunt named Susan Barter however this information may be false. This leads me to believe that in the 1861 and 1891 he is listed as Albert Webb.

I cannot find him on the 1841, 51 or 71 census'

I have found a birth record for Feb 1st 1840 showing parents as John Webb and Elizabeth. I believe this to be Elizabeth Barter, sister of Susan Barter listed on the 61 and 91 census'

If the 61 and 91 census' are for the correct person then what happened to his parents? I cannot see any birth, marriage death or census' records relating to them. I also cannot find Charles' marriage record to Sarah.

If anyone could help me find the information that I am missing I would be very grateful.
