Hi,

I need help deciphering the Profession or Trade of my 3 times Great Grandmother Sarah Walford. The second word looks like Keeper, but I can't figure out the first word. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm trying to decipher the last name after Marguerite.  The entry is in French but I can read the name Samuel Hatton and the name Marguerite.  I think the slash after the name may actually be a comma. Any help would be much appreciated!

Caithness / Parents of Margaret Water(s) of Caithness b. 1775?
« on: Saturday 19 October 13 18:24 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any information on Margaret Water(s) of Caithness.  According to Caithness Monumental Inscriptions, pre 1855, she died [?].11.1820 and was 45 at the time of her death, so she was born c 1775.  She married Rev. Edward Mackay, the first Baptist minister of Thurso.  She is buried in Thurso: St. Peter's Church yard.  I believe that her parents might be David Waters & Jean Gilchrist but I don't have any proof.  It looks as though she was 14 years older than her husband.  Ancestry trees have her dob as 1786 and have various parents listed. Many have James Waters b. 1770 as her father.  He may be her brother.  Any help would be much appreciated!

Can someone please help me with this.  I know that Margaret Water(s) married Edward McKay who was the first Baptist Minister of Thurso, Scotland.  There is much debate as to the name of Margaret's father.  I don't know anything about Scottish marriage announcements & I'm wondering why there are two men's names listed.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks!
