Lanarkshire / Brickwall with Eadie/Addis/Addes family Lanarkshire
« on: Thursday 17 November 16 23:11 GMT (UK) »
I've hit a brickwall with my dad's maternal (Eadie) line.
I got back to my 4x Great grandparents William Addes and Margaret Dickson.
William was born about 1800 in Drygate Lanarkshire. William, a Cotton Hand Loom Weaver, and Margaret were married 23 Oct 1820 in Glasgow. I have them and their children on the 1841 census in Camlachie and the 1851 census at Glasgow College. William died on 10th May 1855 in High Church Glasgow. His parents are listed on his death certificate as Joseph Addes, Cotton Weaver, and Agnes Dinwoodie (sp?) His brother John Addes was the informant on his death certificate.
I have been searching for William and John's birth, or their parents marriage or death certificates with no luck.
Our current surname is spelled Eadie but I have traced it back through a few different variations including Addis and Addes.
If anyone can offer any help it would be greatly appreciated!
