Messages received from Maz1 & Key? have been read but all attempts to reply are failing. Have typed replies several times today but they disappear when I either try to read as a preview or send. Please don't think I'm ignoring you - it's driving me insane !!!
I know they don't allow personal email addresses on the boards but if the ' powers that be ' will release them to you it's OK by me.
Will make contact when possible.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Charles & Eliza Ballard - Completed

Can anyone help ? They were both born around 1819-20, he in Westminster and she in Whitechapel - St.George in the East. I am anxious to discover her maiden name. They were married in Whitechapel in 1851 and credits are needed to obtain her name. She always seemed to be ' looking after ' children, described as stepchildren or a granddaughter on the Census returns and it would be helpful to establish just what the connection was. One was definitely my ancestor and two others might have been related to some of mine.
Many thanks.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Death Rocord - Completed
« on: Sunday 08 October 06 10:32 BST (UK)  »
My efforts - with help from many of you - to find a marriage between Robert Phipps and Rebecca Elizabeth Clark(e) have failed. I am, therefore, now trying to find her death, also without success. She appears to have been alive in August 1854 when the youngest daughter was baptised but Robert died in 1855 and his death was witnessed and registered by a William Phipps, thought to be his brother, which suggests she might possiblybeen dead herself by then. As they did not appear to be legally married the question arises as to which name her death would be entered in. The area they lived in was St.Clement Danes but they had lived in St.Andrew Holborn parish in the 1830's when the first two children were born/baptised. There are two death registrations in the the name of Clark - one in London City 1871 aged 58 and the other in Islington 1885 aged 75. The ages tally insofar as 1841 Census is concerned where her d.o.b.is shown as c1813. (I cannot find her or Robert Phipps on the 1851). Any suggestions/information would be greatly appreciated

Some time ago on another site an item was posted stating that some Middlesex pages for 1851 were missing. Can anyone confirm this? The areas I am interested in are Holborn and the Strand as still looking for marriage of Robert Phipps and Rebecca Elizabeth Clark as, although their children are listed in 1851 they are not. The marriage, presumably, was prior to 1837 and may, if it happened, have been in the St.Andrew, Holborn area.

TIA

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Missing Marriage Partner Completed
« on: Saturday 08 July 06 17:28 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help ? December quarter 1851. Am seeking the marriage partner of Sarah Phipps, one of those listed for that period as it seems she may be one of the family I am researching. There are 4 men shown with 3 women. Have tried 1861 Census for all the men but none have a wife named Sarah unless I've missed it.

Any ideas/suggestions will be gratefully received

Any help would be appreciated in finding a marriage between Robert Phipps and Rebecca Clarke. These are the correct spellings but IGI shows baptisms in 1811 & 1812 in the names of Clark and Phips. I have tried both of these latter spellings also Fipps & Phibbs. The area is around Strand, London, either St.Clement Danes or St.Martin in the Fields. They are on the 1841 Census with 4 children, the youngest born about 1833 and their ages are more or less correct. They are not on the 1851 Census although the eldest son who was married by then had his two younger brothers (both born after 1837) living with him and two of the daughters are shown elsewhere. I believe Robert died in 1855 - am still awaiting certificate. Have not found Rebecca after 1841 and, as the family seem to have split up, wonder if she died after the birth of youngest (?) son in 1847. There is also the possibility they did not actually marry but as they were of Irish descent and, allegedly, RC, I find this rather unlikely.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Inquest reports -Completed
« on: Thursday 23 February 06 09:52 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone advise how to obtain report of an inquest on 28th September 1874 please ? I believe the coroner's reports have all been destroyed so it is a question of a record office or newspaper. The area is the Pancras registration district with the death registered in Grays Inn Lane sub-district. The coroner's name was Edwin Lankaster and the death was on 24th September 1874 at the Royal Free Hospital as a result of an accident. Would be grateful for any help.

Looking for Mary Agnes Pettet. Born 1844 in Southampton and shown on 1851 Census. Married to Joseph Antliff February 1864 in Drury Lane area in the name of Agnes Theresa Pettet with address 21 Craven Court and both are listed on 1871.  She then appears on the 1881 as Head of Household in name of Agnes Antliff living at 45 Verulem St. with her 13-year old son, William who was not listed on the 1871.  Died 1844, again in name of Agnes.  Can anyone trace her missing years between the 1851 and 1871 for me please ?
