Canada Lookup Request / Look up request for Robert Daniel Thompson

Trying to help a friend find her Canadian links.  This is what she sent me......Basically, looking for a Robert Daniel Thompson, born 21/3/1891 (or 1894). Born in Toronto, Ontario. Mother: Sarah J. Thompson and Father: George Thompson. Robert enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, Private #144621, 47th Battalion (electrician) at Smiths Fall on 30/7/1915. Married Florence Edith Govus in Wandsworth, London on 29/8/1918. On 18 June 1920 (daughter Florence was born), listed as ex army and living at 66 Grant Rd, Battersea. Help!!! Have no idea of Canadian systems.

I did find the registration for Robert and Florence's marriage in England.

I would appreciate any help with locating Robert's birth and the Marriage of his parents please?

South Africa / Trying to help a friend and I'm stuck.....

I'm not having much luck helping someone out - the death notice she emailed me does not have the place of birth for her relatives.  I've tried searching the obvious - LDS - Ancestry.com etc.  She is stuck - and now i'm stuck.

Deceased - 1942 - George Cocks - Cape Province South Africa (1490/42) looks like George was married twice, and his parents are not listed on the record.

Florence Tilley Cocks (born Chesterton) who I think I've found

my thinking is she went to South Africa sometime after 1901.

It would appear that the other (maybe the 1st marriage??) wife - Elizabeth Jane Cocks (born Brown) passed away on 04/11/1930.

There were children to the 1st marriage but not the 2nd.  Elizabeth - I've not been able to trace.  Her parents were listed as Richard Charles Brown and Lena Brown (no maiden name listed), Elizabeth was 53 years and 6 months when she passed away in 1930, I think......Elizabeth may have been the 1st wife, as they match what is listed on George's death notice.  But again - no idea of origin of birth.

The eldest child on George's death record states he was 42 years old when George passed away - so I'm thinking was born around 1900 and I'm assumbing George & Elizabeth may have married around 1899/1900, but not sure where.

The eldest child was William James Cocks born circa 1900

The place of the 2nd marriage was Lady Grey Cape Province, and I'm assuming would have been sometime after Nov 1930 when Elizabeth passed.

Any assistance would be wonderful.

Lanarkshire / Recent (maybe) death record

Just wondering if anyone is going to register house in the near future?  I think my grandfather's sister may have passed away recently.  I wrote to an address I had this time last year but have not heard any sort of reply.  When I went back and checked on  the online phone book - the listing was gone.

Last written contact we had with her was in the early 1980's when her mother passed. 

THe person I'm looking for was born in 1926 but I have a feeling passed recently.

If you can pm me I'll give you the details.
