Dublin / John Adair bap. 1815 St.Luke COI
« on: Monday 22 November 21 04:53 GMT (UK)  »
I have found John Adair b. 17/10/1815, bap.10/12/1815 St.Luke COI in the Coombe. Parents may be John & Ann (from New Row), married 1815 same church.  John may have married a Mary Ann ?  Does anybody out there have anything at all on this John?  He seems to have vanished but I am sure someone out there knows something, as they say in the best detective shows.  kenvic

Offaly (Kings) / Sarah Farrel b.abt 1786
« on: Monday 15 November 21 08:05 GMT (UK)  »
Seeking the maiden name of Sarah Farrell b. abt 1786 m. to Charles Farrell of Ballygaddy, Kings Co. The 1821 census says mother-in-law (of Charles ?) is Catherine Colesworth but this does not appear to be an Irish name.  I have found only one other person by that name in Ireland but many years later and it does not appear on the Irish name lists.  Could it be something like Oldsworth?  Or maybe Catherine is not Sarah's mother.  I think Sarah could be mother of Charles Dillon in the same household.  If a Farrell descendant can throw a light on this it would be much appreciated by hundreds of Dillon descendants.  kenvic

Dublin / James Doyle b.1806
« on: Saturday 13 November 21 01:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hi.  Looking for James Doyle born 1806 (RC) and wife Mary b.1816 (maybe Mary Kane) and dau. Mary Bridget Agnes b.1847.  Al found in Dublin but maybe just coincidence for such common names. They emigrated to Manchester, England where Mary Ann married William Kennedy in 1868.  That much we know but d.n.a. connects them to Dillon and Adair (possibly White) and Cameron (all COI or COE) in Queensland, Australia.  One genie site says Thomas instead of James but probably wrong. Cannot find any connection at all so does anybody out there have a clue. Any clue appreciated to unlock this.

Hi.  Trying to find John Adair b.abt 1815 and wife Mary Ann ? b.abt 1807 - 1817 (dates confusing) from Tipperary and Queens Co.  Farmed at Lackey near Tubbrid in Queens but after 1850's mainly in north Tipp.  I have their descendants in Ireland / Australia but cannot get a line on John or Mary Anne's forebears.  Any help appreciated.  kenvic

Any info greatly appreciated.  This birth was very early for Auckland and so far can find no trace of registration.  Father, James Belford. Mother, Anna (nee McIvor or McIver).  Father was described as a 'compositor', don't know if this was his trade or a term for a type of immigrant.  Family later moved to Queensland.  Kenvic
