Dublin / George Wilks c.1700

I'm researching the Wilks family who played quite a key role in Manx affairs but little if anything is known about their background.
Ann Christian from Peel IoM crossed to Dublin sometime around 1690 and married a George Wilks (sometimes Wilkes) - her will dated 1721 states she died in 1719 in Dublin leaving a widower + 3 children - the two girls Ann + Mary who married a Patrick Harald remained in Dublin as far as is known - George + son John moved to the IoM from which time I can trace them - see www.manxnotebook.com/famhist/families/awm1889/wilks.htm
This is still work in progress and I have some additional (Manx) info to add but can find nothing re the Irish side so any help would be useful.
George + son John were smiths but also seemed to go in for a bit of counterfeiting and then some legal minting of coins after their arrival on the Island. The Rev James Wilks (gson of George) was a major figure in the Manx Church.
