Somerset / William Pittard

I am trying to determine the parents of William Pittard. He was born c1774 and died in 1848 in Kingsbury Episcopi in 1848. His wife was Jane Kenshole. They were married in 1804. I am finding alternative parents for William, either William Pittard and Margaret Moore, or Thomas Pittard and Susanna Street. I have been unable to find a baptism certificate to get clarity. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Somerset / Grace Pittard
« on: Saturday 31 January 15 05:01 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to confirm the date of birth of Grace Pittard. She married William James Nurton in 1845. The 1861 census has her born in Kingsbury in c1822 (based on her age). The death of Grace Nurton in 1895 has her born in Chard in 1818 (based on her age).
It would also be very helpful if I could find a baptism or birth certificate confirming her parents.
Many Thanks

Derbyshire / David Bowen / Sarah Palethorp
« on: Tuesday 01 April 14 04:47 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to get some information on my ancestor, David Bowen, and his wife Sarah Palethorp. David was born in 1815 in Llandeilo Fawr in Wales but moved to Alfreton where he became a watch maker. He died in Jan 1879 in Derbyshire but I do not have more detail on his death or where he is buried. We have a family myth that he was Mayor of Alfreton but I do not know how to verify whether this is true.
His first wife Sarah Palethorp was born in Sheffield on 10 Feb 1812 and died 24 May 1872 in Alfreton. I have no further information on her or where she was buried.
I believe that David had a second wife, Dinah but have no information or maiden name.
Many thanks,
Pat Bowen

Caithness / Alexander Bain
« on: Monday 24 February 14 04:24 GMT (UK)  »
My 4th great grandfather, Alexander Bain married Jean Geddes in Thurso, Caithness on 29 July 1792. I have got the marriage certificate. I have not been able to get details of the births of Alexander or Jean and do not know who their parents were. I think that they moved to Edinburgh after having 3 children in Thurso, and had a further 3 in Edinburgh. Any information, specifically on Alexander and Jean's parents would be greatly appreciated.
