« on: Sunday 03 August 14 13:45 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to locate the WW1 service records for James Kerr Stewart s/11070 Argyll and Sutherlands.

I have tried searching using all different methods within the search fields, but no information seems to be available.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

World War One / Help with uniform
« on: Sunday 20 July 14 13:57 BST (UK)  »
Is it possible for anyone to help to identify this first World War uniform please.

The photo is amongst the items we have from my Great Grandfather who served with the Argyll & Sutherlands and the Gordon Highlanders.  Is this uniform anything to do with these regiments?

World War One / Photo Postcards
« on: Sunday 13 July 14 15:41 BST (UK)  »
We have several photo postcards sent by my Great Grandfather to his family in WW1.
We believe that he is in the photograph which also contains other soldiers.
Was is normal for a WW1 soldier to write home using the back of photo postcards containing their own images?
Were all photographs at the time printed using the postcard backing?
Or are these postcards just like we would send today of random images associated with the war.

World War One / Help with Uniform
« on: Thursday 10 July 14 21:20 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help me  identify this uniform.

The photograph was found in an old photo frame purchased from a antique/second hand shop.

I know that trying to find out the name of the person will be impossible, but it would be nice to know what regiment he may have served with.
