Siblings include Annie May/Mary, Elsie, Catherine, William, Mildred,Richard, James Christmas, Morgan Rees and Francis (Frank), my grandfather. Born 1923, the son of Mr. & Mrs. R. Price of Dover. Killed 6/6/1944.

Does anyone please have information on this gentleman? I am intrigued as I have a great uncle of the same name, same battalion killed in WW1. I know there is family of mine in Dover/environs but have failed in tracing anyone.

Mt great uncle, born in Pontlottyn, Glamorgan South Wales, to Richard and Lavinia 1894. Just a name on a wall at Tyne Cot, Belgium. Visited there and left a rose for him. I have a lovely portrait of him on my wall here in Queensland which will be passed in time to my grandsons.

I am looking for the marriage of Patrick Hagan/O'Hagan and Anna Maria Reilly, I have them on the 1901 and 1911 censuses but cannot find when they were wed!

Any details would be greatly appreciated.

He;s a bit of a mystery man, this one!

First appearance 1881 UK census. Lives with father Thomas at 255, New Cross Rd. Greenwich. He marries Sarah Ann Purchase Mar. 1883 in Malling, Kent.

The next appearance is 19/10/1886 when he disembarks the "Chyebassa' in Brisbane with wife Mary Ann, infant Felix born JFM 1886 Medway Kent.

I assume he's back in South Africa by 1899 where daughter Audrey Elizabeth Marian is born followed by Cecil Alfred in 1903, he dying later that same year.

Then there's big gap........... he doesn't appear until he gets murdered in 1914!!!

Where did he embark the "Chyebassa"?  What happened to Sarah Ann? When did he return to South Africa and come back again to Australia?

Any help or suggestions to fill the gaps would be greatly appreciated (and stop me pulling my hair out!!!!!)

Helping a friend with his ancestors. This chap is particularly interesting and we would like to know more about him. His death cert. states he was born in Free State, Africa, 1863. His father we think, was Thomas. Anyone with any more info?  We know a lot more about his life in Australia. He was murdered in 1914.

Is a reliable site for getting certificates? They seem to be much cheaper than "official" sites.

United States of America / First Serious Attempt an Irish immigrant
« on: Tuesday 10 November 15 06:09 GMT (UK)  »
This is my first real attempt to track down an Irish immigrant, so I would really appreciate some advice as to where I should start. Dates are a bit vague but can be narrrowed down to about 17 years, between 1911 and 1928.
