« on: Tuesday 26 May 15 16:17 BST (UK)  »
Hello everyone
Im looking for a harriet cathness or Caithness born in Brockton around 1799, or any other caithnesses around that area. I know she married  Thomas crossley  on the 9th march 1825 in tansley Derbyshire and she died in 1866 in tansley. On the 1851 census it says she’s born in Brockton Staffordshire. Any info on any caithnesses around that area would be most welcome

Family History Beginners Board / searching for luke murphy
« on: Sunday 15 February 15 19:08 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone
trying to trace my g/g/grandad luke murphy but not getting anywhere with it.the only things i know about him are as follows, luke married in sheffield in 1874, on his marriage cert it says his father is william and hes a hawker. lukes age is 24 so that would put his birth about 1850. i cant find him anywhere on the 1871 census so maybe he was still in ireland then. luke dies in 1903 age 53 and is buried in R/C cemetery in sheffield. on 1881-1891-and 1901 censuses it says hes born in ireland but no county. i'm new to trying to find irish records, so any help will be much appreciated, thanks.

« on: Friday 17 October 14 19:45 BST (UK)  »
hi all
im looking for anyone who will be visiting notts archives at any time, as im hoping for a p/r lookup please.its a baptism at hayton from 1771-1773 of a joseph warburton. this record isnt on the nfhs cd so it must either be inelligable or not there at all. the 1851 census says joseph is 77 and was born at hayton  ho107/2121,he died 1 march 1856 in east retford age 84. ive been looking for this record for a long time now and getting nowhere, the 1841 census says age is 65. we think his father was called john (from a brothers baptism at hayton) but not certain.id like to know if there are records between 1771 and 1773ish that are inelligable, if there arent any then i can rule out hayton  his brothers is george baptised 7 jan 1770. thanks
