Family History Beginners Board / Coroners Inquest for a baby
« on: Thursday 06 April 17 05:01 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I would like to know if the Coroners Inquest Records exist for 1898. The details are:

Mary Wilhelmina Wendt died 6 January 1898. The death was recorded at Chipping Sodbury on 8 January 1898. The certificate says "Certificate received from Edward Mills Grace, Coroner for Gloucestershire. Inquest held Seventh January 1898". The cause of death was "Accidentally suffocated whilst in bed with her parents".
I have done a newspaper archive search on several sites with no luck.
There is no birth record for this child who was 3 months old when she died.
Thank you

Family History Beginners Board / Reginald James Wendt
« on: Tuesday 07 February 17 00:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I am looking for Reginald James Wendt, son of Theodore Ferdinand Wendt and Elizabeth Fairhurst. He first shows up in the 1911 census living at 10 Enfield Road, Ellesmere Port, aged 2.
He is on the passenger list when the family came to Australia in 1919 - mother and younger children.
I have searched freebmd, Cheshire BMD for full name, any Wendt, (and News), Reginald's or James born about the same year (1908 - 1910) but can't find any suitable candidate. The census says he was born in Ellsemere Port but the family did travel - other children born in Yorkshire and Glamorgan.

Does anyone know if any records are missing? Is there any where else I can look?

Family History Beginners Board / William Watt - scotsman working in Moscow 1917
« on: Sunday 21 August 16 03:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am trying to find out about a distant relative of my husband named William Watt. He was born in 1841 in Montrose, Scotland and he shows up as a ships master / owner at his marriage in 1876.

The only death we can find (Scotland's people and my self) is for a William Watt, mechanical engineer, who died in Moscow in December 1917. His death was reported by his son Alexander which would fit with the family naming tradition. The area he was living in was popular for workers at the Moscow mint. Does anyone know anything about foreigners working in Moscow at this time?
The son Alexander is a bit of a mystery too - so far no birth or death.

Thank you

Family History Beginners Board / Wartime marriages in the Birkenhead News
« on: Wednesday 27 July 16 03:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Can anyone look up the Birkenhead News for August 1940? I have emailed Birkenhead library but have not had a reply.
I am trying to find out more information about 2 marriages which took place on the 10th August 1940. The were between my uncle, Alfred Herbert Sutton and Gladys Mary Lewis, and William Sutton who married Edith Wright (I think). The photographer was William Cull of Birkenhead, but there are no company records for this time. The current head of the company suggested the library.
I have attached a wedding photo.
Thank you
