Worcestershire Lookup Requests / marriage hughes-harris Bromsgrove ?
« on: Thursday 06 March 08 17:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help everything about this lady is a mystery.  I have spent  so much time trying to find out about her but keep hitting brick wall

I am trying to find information on Mary Ann Harris my gg grandmother

i know her mum  Ann Milton lived in  Grafton ( parish Beckford)  Gloucestershire and married thomas Harris he was from Elmley castle.

They  moved to Elmley Castle Worcestershire where they had 3 other children I have found their christening in the parish records there , but not Mary Ann's nor I can I find hers in the parish records from Grafton.   They then moved to  Ashton under hill

Nor  Can I find Mary Anns marriage and the birth of her eldest child.Ihave found her death in 1881  ( I think she may have been unmarried when she had the eldest boy William

I have found her on the 1871 census
RG10/3071 Folio 43 page 17
married to john Hughes living in Bromsgrove  high street he is a tailor with 6 children  eldest William 12  then a gap of 7years to the next who was 5, then 4 ,3 1, 3 months

However on the 1861 census I have who I think is her Mary Ann Harris unmarried as a servant in Barnsley hall Bromsgrove
 Rg9 piece 2114 folio 62 page 1
It has her as her birth place Grafton Gloucestershire
but where was her son ?

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Can mystery man be traced
« on: Friday 09 November 07 19:11 GMT (UK)  »
mystery man can he ever be traced

Please can someone help my partner trace the granddad he never met

All we have is his name is Samuel Bendiestone or Beddlestone Rouse and he comes from London's east end or middlesex

We have traced on the freebdm a  Samuel beddlestone rouse born 1884 st George in the east of London middlesex.

What are the chances of more than one of the same name like  Bendiestone or Beddlestone with the same first and last name  ?

He was on the electoral register in Worcester
as Samuel Bendiestone Rouse at 84 oldbury Worcester with his wife Beatrice Elizabeth( who is also cam fron London so we are told )  in 1920, and probably before that but have not yet managed to read all the electrical registers to see when he started to live there

He was also there in1921 1922, when Alice Martin
(Beatrices mom moved in from London so we are told)

He was still there in the spring of 1923 but he was gone by the Autumn of that year allthough his wife and mother were still there My partners dad was born in 1916 in Worcester
( Samuels son)Samuel had other children who where also supposed to have been born in London

We are told he ran off with an another women to Hampshire and then on to France where he is supposed to have died

We really would be grateful if some one would look up for a Samuel Beniestone or Beddlestone Rouse on a census in London or Worcester or for a Birth /Christening in the east end of London

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / lookup census 1841,1861 and BDM Gloucester
« on: Sunday 22 October 06 14:48 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace my great grandmothers side of the family
My great grandmother is Sarah "Harris" Pardoe

I have been to the history centre and on Ancestry UK at the library, but can only find part of what i am looking for. I was hope that someone could look up where I am unable to find information to see they come up with anything

Sarah's fathers name is John Hughes born Bromsgrove
Her mothers name Mary Ann ( nee Harris) born Grafton Gloucester

I have john and Mary Ann on the 1871 census living in Bromsgrove

RG103071 foilo73 page 17

and then on the 1881 census
RG11 2940 /22

I cannot find Mary Ann on a census before 1871 with John. Her eldest son was 12 on the 1871 census so I am guessing they were married before this and maybe living in Glos area as this is where Mary Ann came from. I am also hopping that they were married in Mary Ann's parish in Gloucester?

On the 1891 john is married again to different lady which may well be Maryann's sister

I cannot find Mary Ann with her parents other then possibly  in 1851 when she was 11
HO107/2045 folio 30 page 16

But then it was only with her father and he's down as a widow. I really did want to know who her mother was by finding her in 1841  and when she died

thanks

Hi
I have spent the whole day from about 11 until now looking through census at Ancestry

A family member  went to the history museum and has got some folio , page numbers etc for my great granddad for 1901, 1891,  my great great granddad 1871, 1861,  and great great  great granddad for 1851.

I have still to get to the museum to look at them  up to confirm and print them, but she has listed some of the names for me, but not all as there were lodgers etc there as well

she couldn't find  my great great granddad or my great granddad in the 1881 census, so I have been looking all day
as the assess  to 1881 is free to them but I cannot find them ether

I would would be very very grateful if someone here could have a look to see if I am missing it as my head is spinning

If I give you the info I have
