Dublin / trying to find
« on: Sunday 03 October 21 16:08 BST (UK)  »
Hello all, excuse me, if i have posted this, on the board, but i havent been on here, for a long while, and i have forgotten, how to use the boards.
I am trying to find my ancestor. He was a John Tutty.
All i know was that John was born around 1780c and in 1881, he was a valet, I know that would make him 100 years old, but his son mention this fact, on his marriage record,, at his 2nd marriage. it could be that he 'forgot' to add that this fact, was when his father was alive, and that he was now deceased, but, it was not mentioned, on the cert.
I know the son, also John, was from Dublin, according to the census, but have read that a lot of Tuttys came from Wicklow. I also read about someone who was originally from Wexford, then to Wicklow, then his family moved to Dublin.
I have been looking at the naming process, for the son's family, and his first daughter was Mary Ann, so, maybe HIS mother was a Mary Ann. I have been looking on allthe usual websites, ancestryt, findmypast, irishgenealogy.ie, familysearch, but cannot find anyone that fits the bill, date-wise, with the name John, having a son John, for that date.
I think the son, John, was born around 1821 and have seen the baptism record for a Jno Tutty, in 1819, and  marriage of John Tutty to a Bridget Rowe, but cannot confirm that either of these have any connections. John, the son, went to England, and I have all the records, for him, from then on.
I wonder if someone might be able to help. I think the clue is probably the fact that the son said his father was a valet, and so have to lookl for big houses etc, where he could have worked. There was a Thomas Pimm who one John Tutty worked for, i think, as is on one of the records, but could this be him,or did he just rent the house and land , not work for Thomas. Sorry, my first posting  this time is such a long one. Thank you all.

« on: Friday 03 May 19 21:27 BST (UK)  »
Not been on here, for a while, so nay have posted to wrong board, so apologies, if I have.
I am trying to work out how to find the maiden name of someone, who married as a widow.
Both her and her new husband were both married before.
She, being Elizabeth Ellis,( her married name, to first husband)
Her second marriage was to James Ewins.
He was born in Mitcham, and I do have all his details, after his second marriage.
She was born in Battle, Sussex.in 1788.
I only know this from the 1851 census.
Any ideas how to try to go about finding her maiden name, or is it jmpossible, or a long shot.
Thank you.

Sussex / tutty
« on: Saturday 12 January 19 17:34 GMT (UK)  »
I am probably posting this request, in the incorrect place, so please bear with me, as been so long since  been on here.
I am trying to find who the parents were of a William J. Tutty. He was married in 1955, Eastbourne to a lady, surname O Dwyer, although in some records it does say Dwyer.
It seems he was married in Eastbourne but not sure who his parents were or whether he actually came from Sussex.
The reason I am trying to find, without too much information, is that I have my Tutty family in Surrey, and am trying to see if there is a connection.
William did have a son, with the same name, so not to be confused with him.
I would think that, given the marriage date, he must have been born somewhere between 1925 and 1940??
Any help would be really appreciated, pleasse. It really just is his parents that I nned to find, in order to get back further.
Thank you very much

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Look up and advice, please
« on: Saturday 28 February 15 14:53 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
I am posting my topic in two seperate parts.
The first part is that I just cannot find a birth record, or baptism for Caroline Irwin. She was born in August 1880, in Bethnal Green.
I have down as being the daughter of John Irwin and Caroline Wheeler.
Indeed she is with them on a couple of census. Also I have her on one census as being in the hospital.
I do not know if this is the same person, as the Caroline that I am looking for. as, on her marriage cert she has her father down as Charles.

My first question is. Can anyone find a record of her birth.(was she indeed the daughter of John)

My second question is
If this IS the same person then could it have been that Caroline gave the name of her brother, Charles of being her father, as at that time, (if she were the daughter of John) then he was in the workhouse before her marriage, and was there till at least after that.

Assuming that she IS John's daughter, then I do have all the cenus, and marriage record for her, also her on the 1911 census. Also the info for her family before and after marriage.

I had done my tree, following John Irwin, as her father, until more records were released, which gave her father done as Charles, from the London marriages records.
Is there any other Caroline Irwin in Bethnal Green, born at that time, I can't find another one, there, or anywhere else.

I would really value a second opinion. please.
Thank you

The Common Room / Florence Ellen Irwin
« on: Saturday 21 February 15 17:04 GMT (UK)  »
Hello People,
I had previously joined Rootschat, some years ago, but not used it for quite a while, so  I am not sure, now, as it has been a number of years since last using the site, whether, or not, I have added this post to the correct part of the site.

I am looking for a birth look up for a Florence Ellen Irwin who was born in New Zealand around 1886. I believe, although not 100% sure, that she might have been born in  Aukland  I have her as being the daughter of Benjamin Irwin and Sarah Anne Edwards. As I am not able to look up BMD for Australian and New Zealand records, I was hoping that someone might be able to do a look up for me.
I would really like to see the record if that would be possible, at all, and would be really grateful if anyone were to take the time to do the look up. Thank you.
