Buckinghamshire / Phoebe Figg!
« on: Tuesday 16 January 18 13:18 GMT (UK)  »
Hello everyone it's been a while but I need help or even just thoughts!

I have a phoebe Figg born in 1841 Aylesbury with parents James Figg and Lydia!

Now thanks to the new gro search I've found a birth that I believe to be my phoebe with the mothers maiden name price!

A lot of trees online have her mother as a Lydia Hawkins? I've searched and found indeed a James Figg married a Lydia Hawkins but! I think this Lydia was indeed a Price and this was a second marriage.

I am waiting for the phoebe figgs birth cert I found to be sent and see if this can shed any light but I just want to see if anyone else can look and maybe see there thoughts? There is another child called Sarah Susanna Figg born a couple of years before her but that child appears to be registered with the mothers maiden name as  Hawkins!! I just need to make sure there's not two couples of these names or in fact it's the same couple!   Thank you!

Hi all i need some help if anyone can!!

Can anyone help with finding the deaths of

Edward Tubman born 1859 can be found on the 1891 & 1901 census i think there is also a possible 1861 census for him but not entirely sure yet
Barbara Tubman nee Gibson 1859 Have  her on the 1861 to 1901 censuses
Edward is living with some of his children in 1901 in Newburn in 1903 one of the children Seymour is in the newspaper reported found wondering around town after the death of his father no mention of mother Barbara

Barbara can be found in 1901 staying with daughter and son in law in Benfieldside? Durham
I can't see any deaths for the pair, i also can't locate some of the kids after the 1901 census either

Any help would be really appreciated i know i may need to get Edwards birth cert to get back further.

I'm back on the trail of my Foxton clan....

Elizabeth Foxton born Stokesley 1867
Father William Foxton 1823
Mother Elizabeth Carruthers? 1833 - 1884

In 1871 Elizabeth is with family in 1881 she is in a Industrial school for girls at 28 Monk Gate parish York St Maurice.

In 1879 she was arrested for begging where it's stated that she was encouraged to do so by her parents, a couple weeks previous to this her brother was arrested for indecently assaulting her  :-[ After these incidents she was sent to the school in a newspaper article it states she was to be held there for four years.

After the 1881 census i can't seem to locate a good possible anything for her i know she never went back to live with her father and her mother died in 1884, she doesn't appear to be with any of her siblings either. In 1881 she is down as 13 so by the time she left the school if she stayed the full 4 years  i'd think she would be around 17/18.

I've really struggled with this family but i really want to know what happened to Elizabeth especially after the bad start she had.

The Lighter Side / Contacting a possible family member
« on: Sunday 17 April 16 00:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi All i'd like some advice

I believe i may have come across a possible uncle for my 81 year old grandfather his unlce is only 88 so a few years older then him, I've managed to find his address with help of someone else who i've only just came in contact with from that side of the family.

I would like to try contact this man to see if he has any information on my grandfathers mother or even photo's as I've never met that side as my grandfather was left by his mother when he was only a young boy.

Does anyone have any advice on how to go about it i know i may not even get a reply with him been elderly or him not wanting to know, I'm not sure if he's got any children or so on and the other person who knew him when they where younger said he seemed a bit "strange" but I'd still like to try. Thanks
