Europe / Births in Eekloo Belgium
« on: Friday 16 July 21 13:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I wonder if someone could help me look up a birth of Charles Baptise Lippens. Born 4 July 1880/1
in Eekloo. On his papers in the US it states his parents as Francis Lippens & Rosalee Doohe.
The reason I am interested in him is that  my G Grandmother was born 12 Feb 1876 in Eeklo, daughter of Karel Francis Lippens & Rosalie D'hooge. It just seems a coincidence of names of parents & could be a sibling of her?.
Many thanks if you can help

« on: Saturday 27 March 21 16:57 GMT (UK)  »
If you have a Whittenbury in a direct line, I may be able to help. For years, I have been collecting anything on the name. I also have a few unrelated trees that I have created (not cloned)  >:(  to help others find their line.
Leave a comment on here in case I don't see a message ;)

The Common Room / Walter James Allen 1906-1954
« on: Sunday 26 April 20 09:38 BST (UK)  »
Hi all, I am posting this in the common room as it a few clues I am looking for.
Walter James ALLEN was born in Watford in 1906, He married Queenie Marshall in 1934 in Barnet.
He joined the Royal Artillery & was injured in the war, sadly passed away from same in Hanwell Asylum.
I have been trying to work out which Walter he is from army records (there are a few) I was wondering if the 1939 register would have any clue on this? They were living 57 Botwell Crescent Hays Middx at the time.
We are going to write to the LMA to see what records they have for the asylum but wanted to find either his occupation or service history first.
This is from my wife cousins side of the family.
Many thanks

Surrey / Mary Asquith born 1864 Surrey
« on: Thursday 04 April 19 13:07 BST (UK)  »
hi all, I was wondering if anyone could point in the right direction.
I will start with Caroline Katie Asquith born St Saviour Southwark 1890, index says mmn Cohen.

I fond her in the 1891 census with siblings John, George & Eliza. Mother Mary Asquith (Widow). But when I checked the births for the other children there was either No maiden name or Colman & Coleman.?

in the 1901 Census Mary is Married to a William Asquith? Also another child Bert.
I can find no marriage of a William Asqith to a Mary that would fit in?

In 1903 sometime in Southwark she married a Charles Lawrence & on the 1911 census she has 2 more children (Charles & Arhur) & is a widow. when I checked these 2 both had MMN as Asquith.
I also could not find a death of a William Aquith in that time?
So I am wondering did she marry before Charles.
Someone said the 1939 register might have her former names but I dont have acces to that.

Would anyone have baptism or marriage records that area that might give another clue?

Sorry it's a bit long winded, tried o put as much as I found out already.

The Common Room / Help with working out the right William Perrin
« on: Friday 08 March 19 17:15 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all
I am posting this in the common room because I need help in either Aylesbury, Croydon or the Army. I think I have the wrong ancestor? how to work out?
William Perrin Born Aylesbury.
What I do know is his marriage to Sarah Ann  Burnette in Croydon. I was told that he came from Aylesbury & his mother was Elizabeth. On the marr cert it gives age of 22 (1842). I have never seen the original just a transcript & that does not mention a father?
I got what I thought was his birth cert, 5th Dec 1852 Aylesbury Workhouse. Mother Elizabeth Perrin.
Bapt 15th Dec 1842 Saint Mary Aylesbury. Mother Elizabeth.  I found what I thought was Elizabeth (1825) in 1841 census dau of William & Lydia & have been following that line.
In the 1851 found Elizabeth (1822) in Aylesbury workhouse (single) & 3 children , William Henry (1843) Ann (1847) & Thomas (1849). I thought her age was just rough guess as often happens. I also thought William Henry was just a name she added since birth.
By chance I spotted A William Perrin born Aylesbury 1843 living in Hampshire in the 1881 census.
I have never found another William born around that time in Aylesbury so always presumed I had the right one. But now I have found another William Henry Bapt 16 Jul 1843 Quainton (Aylesbury) to mother Elizabeth. I still cant find the Birth for this one? This Elizabeth was dau of Sam &Anne Perrin bapt 12th Aug 1821.
I have now found the other William in the 1851 census Aylesbury Temple Sq School William Perrin 1841 Pupil.
So it looks like there were 2 Elizabeth’s single mothers having children.  I have not managed to find either boys or mothers in the 1861 census.
I am not sure now on which is my Elizabeth & William? He had a son William Born in Croydon in 1865 & soon after he went into the army & was killed in India  before 1870 as I found his wife remarried out there to Edward Hounslow.  Unless I can find his Army records which would give a date of birth or some clue in 1861 census.
Any ideas on which to try next?  (the only other thing that came down through the family was Elizabeth Married her cousin also William Perrin, but I have never found a marriage for that)
Sorry it’s a bit long winded wanted to give as much info as poss
Regards

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Help with Hoxton 1892 Daniel Saunders
« on: Wednesday 27 February 19 14:45 GMT (UK)  »
I need some advice on the best direction to help me solve this riddle, here is what I have.

Daniel Saunders
From his marriage certificate to Jan Harriet Carey 28 Jul 1913, Shorditch.
Age 21 (1892) occupation Seaman (Merchant Services) Father John, also Seaman merchant services.
On January 6th 1914
Name: Daniel  Saunders Age at enlistment:21Birth  Parish: St Marys Birth County :Middlesex Regiment Name:7th Battalion Middn Regiment

Residing at 6 Spital Square, Hoxton at enlistment) 21 yrs 40 days of age )

I worked that out to be 8th Dec 1892 (I may be wrong).
The only Census I could find him on was 1901 in Bermondsey
John Saunders, 1872 coal porter
Lill ? Saunders Wife 1874
Alice Dau 1888
Dan 1891 All born Bermondsey.
That works out John was only 16 when Alice was born?
This is where I have come to  a complete blank on any of them.
I cannot find a birth for Daniel. A marriage of john to a Lill (Lillie)?
Deaths or on any other census for any of them?
Not sure if any of them would be on the 1939 list?
Any clues, we have been working on this one for a few years ?

Worcestershire Lookup Requests / Help with Ripple, Strensham or Leigh records
« on: Thursday 21 February 19 08:13 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I wonder if one of the local Worc researchers could hep me with my 5th g gran?
This one might be a bit complicated but if I put all I have found to give some clues where I can find record etc.
Her name is "Dessamore Neddings" (you would think that would be easy)  ??? Timeline.
Born Ripple 1802?
In Dec 1825 it looks like she had a child Thomas Neddings  in Ripple (her name Decima Neddings), no mention of father.
on May 4 1830 she married Benjamin Haywood in Strensham, (not seen original so do not know her status)
In 1841 census, name is Desemore Haywood, Chapel Lane Leigh, no mention of Benjamin (not seen original so do not know if widow)
It also looks like one of her Children William was born 1828 (I know 1841 not exact) but can not find a bapt. I have found the bapt of her other children all Strensham.
In 1851 census she is Dessey Haywood, in Bransford, Worcestershire, Widow born Riply.
Her Children say born Hillcrom (? Hill Croome).
After this I can find no record of her (or her children, apart from her Daughter Elizabeth Matilda b 1830 Marr 1851 Birmingham, my 4th gr gran (I have all the bits for her)
sorry it's a bit long winded  :P
What I would like is a point in the right direction where I could find Bens birth & death (the only death I could find was in 1838 was Kidderminster, but thought that might be a bit faraway)
The Birth of Dessamore Neddings  (what ever type of spelling) or the death of her as Haywood.

Thanks for taking the time to read
Den  ;)
