« on: Monday 23 January 23 23:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,
Something of a long shot - I am trying to trace relatives of Peggy Nettley who was in Sherborne, Dorset , then West Horsley, Surrey in 1945. Probably aged about 20/25 then.
An item previously in her possession has been found.
Can't find her on any research site
Many thanks
Paul

The Common Room / Search Birth Records just using Father’s name?
« on: Thursday 19 January 23 17:38 GMT (UK)  »
Is it possible to search birth records just using fathers name?
Wartime romance, sadly the father was pilot killed in WW2 before daughter was born.
Know fathers full names.
Don’t know mother other than “Peggy”.   Not married.
Don’t know daughters name.
Is it possible to search birth records just using fathers name?
Have info on father which would be of great interest to daughter or girlfriend if still alive.
Thanks

Hi all
You have been brilliant in helping me trace two of the relatives of my uncles crew, lost over Nürnberg 28/8/1943

I am now looking to trace relatives of George Charles BURTON, Mid Upper Gunner.

Flying in Stirling Aircraft with 620 Squadron

Age 20 at time of death. Son of George Edwin and Emeline E. Burton, of Harlow, Essex.

I can't find relatives on Ancestry or Genes?

Can you help?  I have info on the crew I would like to pass on to George Burton's family

Many thanks

Paul

John Francis Nichols was the pilot of my Uncle's Stirling aircraft that crashed on a raid to Nurnberg on 28th August 1943

I am looking to trace any living relatives or others that may know more about him

I can't find any record on Ancestry or Genes Reunited websites. I believe he was British but don't know D.O.B, next of kin or where he came from.

But I know he existed! See Commonwealth War Graves site http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/2102614/NICHOLS,%20JOHN%20FRANCIS

Can you find him?

Thanks!

Paul

I am trying to find the birth details of a child born to a wartime romance. The father was an American pilot named William Baker from Minnesota. The only details I have of the mother is that her name was Peg or Peggy. The child would probably have been born between Sept 1944 and July 1945.  Is there anyway I can find further info?   William Baker was killed at Arnhem in Sept 1944 and the child would not have known the father. I have lots of info to pass on if I can locate the child.

William Baker was the pilot of my uncles Stirling aircraft.
Joined the Royal Canadian Airforce 1941
Involved in D Day. Shot down with the loss of all crew on 23rd September 1944 at Arnhem, Holland.
Born 22 October 1919 Red Wood Falls, Minnesota
Parents Louis and Winifred Baker
Brother Jack Louis Baker
I have done a lot of research on my Uncle and his crew, including locating the aircraft crash site at Arnhem

Would love to share my research with William's family

Can you help?
Paul
