South Africa / Sholl, Hutton Families
« on: Saturday 18 May 19 17:10 BST (UK)  »
I'm asking for a 'cousin' who is looking for information on their relative Mary Ann Hutton.

Looking to make contact with the relatives or descendants of William John Sholl of Plymouth England and Mary Ann Hutton of Troon Scotland who married in Johannesburg 27th February 1904.
William is known to have died from cancer in Cape Town in 1933 aged 50 years.

Any help or direction would be much appreciated.

Hi I'm looking for some directions please.
I am trying to find an obituary for Alec Miller Stephens, who died Nov 1985 in Yeovil.
Alec was a retired priest with the church of England, previously Rector at Stockton, Tyne and Weir,
he had retired to Yeovil and I believed he lived near by a local convent.

Thanks in anticipation

Midlothian / St Curthbert's Parish, Edinburgh
« on: Saturday 28 May 11 23:11 BST (UK)  »
Wonder if someone can help me?

I have located several births in the St Curthbert's area of Edinburgh between 1801 - 1814.
On the OPR entries the writing wasn't clear as to establish the location of the births.

Birth 1803 for Isobel Wilson Anderson looks like Banonder Land.
On siblings births it could be Barlow Land or Barrowlock or even  Barven Loch?

Sorry to be so vague but hopefully someone with local knowledge may be able to help

Thanks

Wiltshire / A 1922 Swindon Problem
« on: Tuesday 15 June 10 22:54 BST (UK)  »
I have a Grand Uncle who went to US and married an Ada Emily ?  (born about 1884)

From Census records and ships records Ada was given as being from Swindon.

The only address I have is in the Ships Records when Ada and John Black sailed from New York to
London in 1922 and gave their address as 120 Morrison St, Swindon.

Can anyone help me with a surname for the family, living there at that time, 1922?

Any snippet would be of help.

thanks

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Rev William H Kellock
« on: Friday 29 September 06 23:04 BST (UK)  »
William Kellock was born in Scotland 1865(ish) and a minister with the United Presbyterian Church.  I have located his grave at Abney Cemetery, London (Hackney).  Is anyone in the position to tell me if he was attached to a church there.  I have him in Glasgow on 1901 Census and cemetery index states he died 1915.

Any help would be appreciated.
