I am trying to research the Hagan family line. My Grandmother was Josephine O'Hagan born 1901 in Cheshire and married Cecil Hills. Her father was Edward F Hagan who married Annie Smythe in liverpool. I have found Edward and family in the 1911 census living in Cheshire. Edward was born in Salford, Manchester, England in 1870. The 1881 census shows him living in Dorset with the name Hagen (i am pretty sure its the right family) Father James Hagen, Mother Ellen Hagen, with 5 children James, Mary, Elizabeth, Edward and John J, all where born in Ireland apart from Edward. The 1871 census shows them in Port Glasgow, all the names are the same but John J wasnt born until 1877, it shows Edward being born in England so I am pretty sure i have the correct records. Now I am stuck, I do not know where in Ireland Edward's father James and Ellen where born, nor do I know Ellen's maiden name. i thought it was Hamilton but I don't think so now as their children are different. Where do I go from here?
