Hello Everyone!  I am hoping someone might have information on a Robert John Ferguson Born September 24 1895 in Kilmarnock Ayeshire Scotland.  On his Marriage certificate it lists his parents as being Robert John Ferguson and Jennie Muir Ferguson.  He married Keitha Long on April 18 1928 in Belleville Ontario Canada   I have tried to find a birth register for him using Scotslandpeople but have had no luck.  In April of 1907 he arrived in Nova Scotia Canada as a British Home Child from the Quarrier's Orphan Homes of Scotland. He also fought in World War 1 enlisting in September of 1914.  My question is if anyone is researching this gentleman if they have any information regarding his parents or his life in Scotland before being sent to Canada I would appreciate any help.  Because I have his date of birth I thought it would be easy to find out about his parents but I cannot unfortunately.  Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank You!

Good Morning!  Am trying to find information on my Great Grandmother Matilda Watton who was born 1856.  All I have been able to find out is her Marriage Record she married John Shields November 23 1877 in Ballyrashane the couple were living in Ballynagg at time of marriage and both were 21 years of age and occupations listed as servants  Matildas Father was listed as John Watten who possibly had the occupation of a Weaver.  I believe her Mothers name was Jane Simpson .  Their first born son (my Grandfather) was William and he was born in Kildollagh so am thinking possibly Matilda could have  came from Coleraine area .  Matilda and John immigrated to Canada in the early 1900's and Matilda died there 1915.  It would be so nice to find out about Matildas family and if she had siblings but I don't where to look.  Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated !  Thank you!

Hello Everyone!  Am hoping someone might be able to help in finding a birth or baptismal record for my Great Grandfather John Shiels who was born June 21 1855 or possibly 1856.  Unfortunately I do not know where but I do know that his parents were Samuel Shiels and Margaret Martin and they were married in the Maghera Presbyterian Church in November of 1855 and seeing as that was possibly the same year as my Great Grandfather was born I thought perhaps his baptismal record would be there but it was not.  Is there any other Presbyterian Churches in that vacinity I could try.  I do not live in Ireland but am Canadian and therefore cannot search in person.  I have been trying to find out information about John for sometime have found some but cannot find a birth record.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank You!

I am looking to find out about a gentleman by the name of David McDonald who fought for the British in the American Revolution.  He was a soldier with the British 10th Regiment of Foot (North Lincolnshire) .  He is of Scottish Descent.  He arrived in Boston Mass. in 1768.  I believe after the war he made his way to Eastern Canada possibly New Brunswick as a United Empire Loyalist .  I would love some more information on him as to where he settled and his wife and childrens names etc.  If anyone can help or guide me as to where I can learn about him I would be so grateful.  Thanks  :)

Hello Everyone!
I have been trying very hard to find information about my Great Grandmother Matilda Watton of County Derry in Northern Ireland.  The only information I have been able to find is her Marriage Certificate when she married John Shields of County Antrim on November 23 1877 at Ballyrashane Presbyterian Church.  It states that that they were both living in Ballynagg Co. Derry at the time of their marriage and her Fathers name was John Watton (sometimes spelled Watten) I am not sure but her Mother may be Jane Simpson of Coleraine.  John and Matilda had four children one being William Shields (1878-1958) my Grandfather.  John and Matilda immigrated to Canada in 1907 and Matilda died in Vineland Ontario Canada on January 27 1915.  It would be so nice to know a bit about her life before marriage if she had siblings and who her Mother actually was.  I am not sure just where to look for this information being that I am not sure of her Mothers name and John Shields is a very common name in Northern Ireland.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you! :)
