Technical Help / Ancestry - how to merge from another person's tree

My ggrandmother and her ancestors occur in another person's tree. I know there are additional people there and additional information but they are not showing up as hints for me to merge or in the 'search trees' action on my ggmother.

How is it best/easiest to either:
force Ancestry to include that tree in the hints to me or
to copy a person from the other tree complete with facts/media

I am using FTM as the master copy but happy to do in web mode.

Armed Forces / Help Identify Uniform

Any ideas on a name for the regiment etc ?
This is some sort of volunteer uniform ( family information ).
I thought at one time it was local to Gainsborough Lincolnshire ca 1914.
Now I have a suspicion it might be earlier Cheshire.
The wearer was born in 1879.

The mechanism for following a green leaf hint to Ancestry and comparing detail  has broken in the last couple of days. I have reported it to the US and UK sites. Many people reporting in US as in this example....

Merge failure

When clicking on an ancestor hint "leaf", the page opens with possible resources for the person. However, one cannot select any hint to merge, and the merge box for the hint at the bottom right remains blank. The program operated normally until two days ago, now merge has failed.

I think it must be a web site change as I have not changed the program... probably Active Server Pages or equivalent.

Essex Lookup Requests / Gower Maldon Essex

I have from Censuses a James Gower  b Maldon abt 1823  - possibly bap Gowers.
I have searched the CofE records at SEAX online ( All Saints and St Mary) with no luck for a James though plenty of Gower(s).
It is frustrating because an indirect contact claimed to have James Gower b Maldon 18 May 1823
but no evidence.
Does anyone have a Nonconformist James ( unlikely ) or a James from other sources at that date?
or a late baptism for such a James ( which might be in Barking )
