« on: Thursday 12 January 23 12:50 GMT (UK)  »
   Happy New Year Everyone
I am trying to find out about the early life of my Great Grandmother - Mary Evans.
She was born in 1835-6 and her Father was Thomas Evans and a Farmer I don't know
      her Mothers name.
When she married my Great Grandfather ( Daniel Elias ) on the 15th November 1864 she was 29
and living in Rhymney. She lived all her married life in Rhymney. Mostly on a farm named Penbryn-
oer ( now a wind farm!)  She died 31st July 1888 in Tai Elias. Rhymney at the age of 52.
On the 1871 census she had her age as 35, and 1881 census had her as 45. Both of these
censuses had her as being born in Breconshire. She is buried , with her husband, in Soar-y-
      Graig churchyard.
If anyone can help me find out more abouther or point me in the right direction.
Thank you for taking the time to look at this and I wish you a happy and healthy New Year
Kind Regards - Take Care - Keith

« on: Friday 28 January 22 16:27 GMT (UK)  »

Greetings all, - Hope everyone is keeping well,
I am trying to find out what happened to this gentleman after 1902.
His parents were John Burton Famer and Sarah Elizabeth West. He had 3 siblings
      - Elizabeth Sarah, George William and Ann. He married my Great grandma in April 1895.
Her name was Annie Rogers ( formerly Hollis ). They appear on the 1901 census all named
Farmer - George, Elizabeth, Annie and Emily wre all Rogers by name. to two little ones,
John and Rose were both born Farmer. John R is down as a (House) Painter. Sadly, both
the youngsters died in 1902 In Bethnal Green. The only other information I have is that my
Great Grandma died in 1921 in Hackney. So I don't know what happened to her from 1902
until her death. John R I know nothing about full stop. His name appears on her death cert
but almost as an afterthought . Any help would be greatly appreciated
Take care all - Thanks and regards - Keith

« on: Wednesday 14 July 21 19:02 BST (UK)  »
 Greetings Nice People,
I have just got a copy of my Great great Grandfathers Death Certificate which said
that he died of Typhus in the Union Workhouse, Hackney on the19th May 1860.
His name was Samuel Rogers and I would like to know:
           a) Was the Union Workhouse, Hackney the one in Homerton
           b) Where would I find the records for it
           c) What would they have done with his body - I mean Typhus in a place like that!
if they buried I'd like to know where so I could take some flowers - plus I think
his wife died in the same place many years later.
Thank you for your help - Please take care - KInd regards Keith Davies

London and Middlesex / My Great G/Grandma born in Bethnal Green circa 1856
« on: Wednesday 14 July 21 18:26 BST (UK)  »
Greetings Nice People,
I am trying to find out about my Great Grandmother who was born in late 1856 in Bethnal
Green . Her name was Ann Hollis , known as Annie. She was born to William and Elizabeth Hollis.
 ( i don't the exact date or place) .
She married my Great Grandfather, Charles Rogers in Dalston on the 17 May 1875. They had six
children most of whom I have knowledge of except George, born in 1880 in Homerton.
Sadly, Charles died in 1888 in 30 Merton Road, Homerton leaving Annie with 5 kids (1 had died )
She married again in 1895 a man by the name of John Richard Farmer with whom she had at least
  2 more kids.
The 1901 census (RG 13/286 ) , this is the last entry I have for George, living at 8 Newling Str.
Bethnal Green.  We think that John and Rose sadly died in 1902 of Diptheria, but I can't find
what happened after that to either Annie, John Farmer or George Rogers. they may have had
another daughter named Elizabeth Farmer but I'm not sure.
I'm hoping some fresh sets of eyes may help
Thank you in advance for any guidance and help you can give me
Please take care and look after yourselves - Kind Regards  - Keith Davies

Canada Lookup Request / How do I trace my family in Canada
« on: Monday 08 March 21 18:37 GMT (UK)  »
Greetings Nice People - I hope you are all keeping safe

I am trying to trace family in Canada that went out around 1903 and stayed. I know my
great Uncle Edward Davies married out there and raised a family but I can't find records
in the same way I can using  Free BMD in the UK - Is there any source like BMD in Canada?
He married a lady named Tydvill Jane Jenkins in  Simcoe, Ontario on the 7th of May 1906.
I know of some children and grandchildren but its all a bit vague.
Edward is my first effort at trying to find someone outside of Wales

Thanks for any help - take care - Keith

P.S. Sorry for my mistake regarding Janet Ferguson. Hopefully I have corrected myself
Thank you for the two other bits of advice.

Cardiganshire / My G/G/Mother Anne Davies
« on: Thursday 03 December 20 15:50 GMT (UK)  »
Greetings Nice People,
I'm having trouble finding out about my Great Grandmother Anne Davies
She was baptised on the 25th March 1849 - but I can't find a record of her birth.
I got 2 pdfs from GRO (No's 27/36 and 27/35) which are not her
Her baptism happened  at Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn. Her Father was a Lead Miner
and they lived with her Mother Anne at Penrhiw ,Garnwen ( I can't find that place either)
She married my Great Grandfather David in Feb1878 and had my Grandfather David on
30th November 1878 as well 3 other Children. All of her children (apart from my
Grandfather) and her husband died before her. I know nothing about her death apart from
she lived until at least 1918. They started off living in Abermaide Mill House when they first
married moving on to Craig-y-bwch finally onto Camolwg in Cwmrheidol where I think
she died. I know my uncle Daniel and Aunt Annie Gwen both lived with her. My Aunt
married a local man and running a local shop in Salem.
When my G/G/M married my G/G/F she was his second wife and took on at least 4
children from his first marriage. They had a lot to do with Aberffrwd chapel.
She must have been one hell of a woman and I would have loved to have met her.
So, if anyone has any ideas how I can find her Birthday or when she died I would
very grateful - please take care - Kind Regards Keith   :) :) :)

« on: Thursday 03 December 20 11:43 GMT (UK)  »
Greetings Nice People,
I have just got a pdf of my Lovely Mums Birth Certificate with the basic idea of
finding where exactly she was born. I thought as I also grew up in Hackney I would
know where it was - Wrong! She was born at 5 Askew Street, Hackney in 1919.
So, it's either been re-named or bombed to pieces or...
Thank you for any help you can give - Take care - Kind Regards - Keith

Cardiganshire / Tracing a missing child
« on: Saturday 17 October 20 11:13 BST (UK)  »
Greetings Nice People,
I've looked at the 1911 census for my Great grandparents (David and Anne (nee Davies) Davies) who lived at Camolwg, Cwmrheidol, Aberystwyth. It has that they had had 4 children together. At the time 2 were alive and 2 had died. The 2 alive were my Grandfather David (1878-1946) his brother Enoch (1882-1915) and I only know of 1 other who was Annie (1889-1905) . They married in 1878, Anne was his second wife. His first wife , Elinor (Eleanor)Evans died in 1877. So, Mary, Elizabeth, Edward and John were with Elinor ( there may have been more with Elinor as she may have had long-term health problems. The 2 other places I know David and Anne lived at that I also can't find are Abermaide Mill House and Craig y bwch . All in the Aberystwyth area.
So, I would like to know:
Who is the missing young child for David and Anne
Did David and Elinor have any other children than the 4 I know about - My cousin thinks that David could have had as many as 13 kids in total.
Where are the 3 places (I know of!) that David and Anne lived in.
And also, David and Elinor lived in Perthygwenin and Waungron in Llanddeiniol and I haven't found them exactly. Any maps showing any these 5 places would help tremendously
Thanks for looking - Take care and keep safe - Kind Regards - Keith Davies
