London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / 1939 register.
« on: Wednesday 06 March 19 19:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hi.  I believe the 1939 register gave details of all persons (inc' children).  If this is so is it at all possible to find  Arthur Charles Penfold (born Arthur Charles Hammond 1832 Battersea London) He was adopted and lived in the Battersea/Wandsworth area. Any details as to the whereabouts and with whom he was living would be much appreciated.  Many thanks.  Dud.

Dorset Lookup Requests / Who was his mum?
« on: Saturday 23 December 17 13:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hi.
Edward Komber Jacob  chr.24th November 1762 in Cranborne Dorset.  Family Search shows father only as Edward.  Any ideas as to how I can find who was Edwards wife.  I cannot find a marriage for  Edward (snr)  anywhere in the vicinity of Cranborne.  The christian name Komber is unusual but I believe it was common practice around that time for a childs second name to be that of his/hers mothers maiden name.
Any help appreciated.

« on: Monday 21 November 16 19:30 GMT (UK)  »
Hi.
My uncle who was born 1917 was called up for  service in WW2.  As a young man he lost an eye in an accident but still did military service. What regt would he have possibly been in?.  I also was given to believe he was a POW  but cannot find any details of him.

Surrey Lookup Requests / Surrey electoral roll.
« on: Wednesday 29 June 16 14:35 BST (UK)  »
Hi.
Can somebody let me know if the the electoral rolls for Surrey give the actual name or number of the house of persons entitled to vote.  The person I am seeking lived in Camberley, Surrey from 1900. I know the name of the road but not the number/name of the house. The census for 1901 only states the road and nothing else. I am aware that Ancestry have the records but I do not want to contribute and find I get nowhere.  Very many thanks.  Dud.
