US Lookup Requests / Annie Fredericka Dyson Death Nevada 1963
« on: Saturday 30 September 17 09:58 BST (UK)  »
Good morning !
I am trying to find verification of the death of my father's Aunt. She left England in the 40's to go to America. She arrived in New York on the 24th September 1947 on Pan American Airline. I have found an entry stating that she died 1963ish in Nevada aged 49 but cannot verify this and know nothing of where she settled. Any help would be most gratefully received. Thank you, Mary

Yorkshire (North Riding) / William Lewis look up request
« on: Tuesday 28 February 17 18:47 GMT (UK)  »
Good evening
Could anyone look up William Lewis please ?
He most probably was born in one of the villages surrounding Whitby. He married Mary Elizabeth Wilson in 1914 in Whitby. I would love to know who his mother or female relatives were as I have inherited an object that is inscribed B.E.L. and I am hoping that these initials can be traced to one of them ? Unfortunately I do not have any other details other than that he lived and worked in Esk Valley, nr Grosmont.
Thank you
Mary

Laois (Queens) / Thomas Phelan / Esther McCormack 1840s
« on: Thursday 26 July 12 19:05 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I am trying ( have been trying for a long time now ! ) to trace further back than my gt gt grandparents but am having real trouble.....

gt gt grandad - Thomas Phelan born Queens County / Castle Connor ? Ireland about 1843 - father James Phelan - Woolcomber - dead before 1865

gt gt grandma - Esther McCormack born Dublin / Ireland Bridge ? Ireland about 1843 - father James McCormack - Builder - dead before 1865

They were married in Leeds, Yorkshire in 1865 - Catholic church.

Unfortunately that is all I have other than that the witnesses were Bridget Cox and Hayster Slatry ?

They were married at Mount St Mary Leeds which I have researched and it appears is was a church formed for the vast number of Irish who were living in the area ?

I know it's a long shot but does anyone recognise any of these details ?
Thanks
Mary

Dublin / Esther McCormack bn 1840
« on: Tuesday 02 August 11 18:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

Greetings from across the water !!

This is a real long shot but here goes...

I am trying to trace my great great grandmother. She was Esther McCormack born 1840 ish in Ireland, variously reported as Dublin and Ireland Bridge.

She married Thomas Phelan in 1865 in Leeds, Yorkshire. He was born in Queens County/ Castle Connor in 1838 ish. He was a cooper.

They raised a family in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Other than the marriage I can find no other details, does anyone recognise the names ?

Many thanks,

Mary

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Esther McCormack / Thomas Phelan Leeds / Wakefield
« on: Tuesday 02 August 11 16:46 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

I am trying to find out more about my great great grandparents...

All I know is the following;

Esther McCormack born about 1840 in Dublin, Ireland

married

Thomas Phelan born about 1838 in Queens County, Ireland

in 1865 in Leeds.

They then lived in Wakefield and raised their family there.

I can find absolutely nothing on either other than the marriage - does anyone recognise the names and know any other relations ?

Thanks as always,

Mary

Stirlingshire / Walter Stirling Wood, possibly Falkirk
« on: Tuesday 15 March 11 15:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

Am trying to get kicked off here and am failing badly !!

Does anyone have any info on;

Walter Stirling Wood m. Mary Ann Beaton Gibson her birthdate approx 1894 in Scotland ( got from census )

They had a son John Wood died 1933 Falkirk.

That's all I have at the moment - not even sure of the area although Falkirk would seem a good bet and is a place identified by living relatives.

Many thanks as always,

Mary
