US Completed Requests / massachusetts deaths 1940s
« on: Monday 31 January 22 17:27 GMT (UK)  »
Would anyone with newspaper access be able to look for obituaries for my great, great aunts please? Mary Ann Kindlan died 1941 in Springfield and Susan Kindlan died 1945 in Belchertown. I don't have the exact dates only the volumes and pages from the death index, would ideally like the certs but can only see option for certified copies which require govt ID and are expensive, all a bit difficult from overseas (UK). Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

World War One / Alias
« on: Tuesday 23 February 21 12:10 GMT (UK)  »
A relative of mine Peter Kindlen has a pension and ledgers card from WW1 under the name he was born with but on the card it says alias John Scott, the regimental number is 9384. He was drafted into the Seaforth Highlanders and then the Machine Gun Corp. I've also found a pension and ledgers entry for John Scott alias Peter Kindlen same reg no.  but Cameron Highlanders. How could he have an alias and be in 2 regiments?

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Ross? Family Dundee
« on: Thursday 11 April 19 23:07 BST (UK)  »
Could anyone please clean up/restore this family photo? I think I recognise the man in the middle of the front row as William Ross and so it may be a Ross Family  wedding/ christening but am not sure, it's definitely taken in Dundee, Scotland.
Thanks,
Kat

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Date please of Ross family gathering?
« on: Wednesday 27 February 19 11:23 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone please give me an idea of when this family gathering might have taken place? It looks like a christening judging by what the the baby in the front is wearing but a few of the adults are wearing flowers.....? It may be my Ross family as the man in the middle of the front row with a little girl in front of him looks a bit like my great grandad William Ross born 1881 in Dundee.

The photo is stuck on grey card which has itself been stuck on black card and would have been taken in Dundee. There is absolutely nothing written on the back and nobody in the family knows anything about it, we found it amongst other photos when my gran died.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

« on: Friday 04 August 17 20:56 BST (UK)  »
Could anyone tell me please how to find out where the grave of Bernard John Glancy (Glancey) might be in Linlithgow cemetery or even if there would be a marked grave? He died Sep 1908 in the poorhouse  after being in there for 4 days and the record says Linlithgow cemetery.
