Family History Beginners Board / Ireland. Gaps of Barnsmore

MY family line comes through Ireland. Have been told Great-great-grandparents were shepherds in the
 of Barnsmore Gap.  Does  anyone have any idea where maybe records would be held. The towns etc.  :)
