Sometimes thread openers do not respond to help given even though they have been online several times after their original posting. The information they require is posted, and then nothing, no thank you, nothing. Rootschatters spend a considerable amount of time helping others.
People should have the decency to thank forum members for their help.

I think this foto was either taken in England, France or Belgium in 1920.

The man on the left is my Grandfather, pilot by Handley Page, the other two I donīt know.

Any ideas what uniform the man on the right is wearing?
What nationality could the man in the middle be?

Any help would be appreciated

Would the top hat or the womens clothes have any significance in 1867

Hi
i have a Jane Powton/Pouton dau of John Powton and Jane Douthwaite.
The 1851 Census says John Powton was born in 1788, Thornten le Beans, Northallerton, Yorkshire.
Jane Douthwaite was born 1790 in Romanby, Northallerton, Yorkshire
They married 1812 in Osmotherley.
I have found most of the the Douthwaite family but nothing about John Powton.
Who were his parents? can anybody help?
Through Ancesrtry and FindMypast i have found loads of Powtons/Poutons in North Otterington near Northallerton but i canīt get them sorted
